Much to my surprise, I found that most recipes call for bacon, large amounts of cheese, heavy cream and a lot of rich ingredients that I don't typically eat. There is a vegetarian section but most of those still are dairy-heavy.

I ended up returning the book because it just wasn't what I wanted--just putting this out there so that if others have the same misconception as I, it will save you the time for ordering and returning.

Review: If you like Tieghans blog and/or first Cookbook then I am sure you will like this book too. I love that she integrated the Instant Pot. I do have one request.....the first recipe I looked at suggested the flour to be poured into a separate bowl....make it fluffy.....and THEN measure the flour with a cup and pour it into mixing bowl. My first thought was too much effort and too many dirty dishes AND I WISH TIEGHAN WOULD USE/ADD SOME METRIC MEASURES.
So Tieghan, if by chance you read this...how about the next time you develop a new recipe you take a second and put the fluffy flour on a scale that says....?;)grams. It just would make MY life much easier.....just saying.
And last night we had your Jerk Shrimp and Mango Salsa Rice Bowl......Total HIT!!!!

Review: Anything Half Baked Harvest is a must in our home. Weekly we cook meals from Tieghan’s first cookbook (Half Baked Harvest Cookbook) or her blog, (halfbakedharvest.com). I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed in her second cookbook but wow! Looking through this there’s not even ONE recipe I wouldn’t want to make. You know when you look through a cookbook and only a few things catch your eye? Not here. I will be making every single recipe this cookbook has. Tieghan also has a picture for every single recipe which is very generous. It is a pet peeve of mine to flip through cookbooks and a photo is not attached with a recipe, so thank you Half Baked Harvest! Also, the most creative, delicious, must-make-again meals, everyone can make. She has creative and practical tips throughout the cookbook. This book also stays flat and open while cooking. Can’t say enough great things!

Review: The cookbook is beautiful and I love her aesthetic. I love one pan recipes and comfort food however the recipes in this just do not deliver. They need serious tweaking. After trying 10, I'm officially done - the results have been underwhelming. I have found they're either way too bland or way too thyme/cheese heavy.

Review: Absolutely beautiful cookbook, photography is amazing ( most of which are by the author and chef herself) and really makes you excited to delve in and try out the recipes. Recipes are wholesome uncomplicated and scrumptious. I pre-ordered this book in July and waited until October to receive it but it was well worth the wait. I can already tell it will be a family go to for years to come. Really wonderfully put together, clear and concise instructions. My husband even read it which is definitely not the norm and was excited to try out some recipes, it’s perfect for visual people like me who are inspired by a photo alongside every recipe. Love it !!!
