Title: Readable standard college physics textbook for scientists and engineers

Review: Easy to read textbook on college physics. It has nice summaries throughout with pearls you should know. My only complaint is that it is difficult to remember what each symbol represents. It should be easier to find.

Review: Please be aware that you do NOT need to order the workbook in addition with the book because this book comes with the workbook. The product description does NOT say this and I purchased this book along with the workbook separately because the workbook was required for the class. Luckily I can return the extra workbook I now own. It's frustrating that this was never mentioned in the product description and since this book was over $100 cheaper than the textbook/workbook at the school's bookstore, I figured the workbook was not included.

Title: Book is great in teaching the material, answer key has infuriating typos.

Review: I’m just going to review the actual content of the book and generally ignore the access code vs no access code issues in my rating. That said, I thought it would come with an access code and it didn’t, so it would have been helpful if that information was in the description.

The book itself is very well written and teaches things in a very clear way. It is not a high-school level book so be prepared to read and re-read things to understand them. The concepts are taught in a very clear way as long as you have the math fundamentals.

What I can’t forgive is typos in the answer key. I have wasted hours redoing my work only to discover that the answer key either has a small typo in the answer (7800N vs 780N) or that it accidentally gives the answer for another problem (ie. it says the answer is for #39 but is actually for #38). Typos in an answer key to me is ridiculous considering how many editions they’ve had to fix the issues. This also makes me always doubt the book for each answer I look up and defeats the purpose of having an answer key.

Long story short, great content, crappy questions/answer key.

Review: My rental came in great condition but I absolutely hate this book. Originally bought at Penn State for my Physics class. Sold it once I transferred then realized I needed it a year later for my Physics class that I had to take there. This book is horribly difficult to learn from. Do not expect to teach yourself from the book. The homework only helps because all the answers can be found on Slader with full explanations and work. If you don't have a good teacher, you're doomed.
