Title: It stands astride the border of fanfic and something woth buying.

Review: But mostly it reads like fanfic.

The cons:

There are entire swaths of narrative early in the book that are italicized. Sure, he wants you to know that the character is not on earth, dreaming something, but that can be accomplished in a better way. Like using a sentence of two to convey it. Page after page of italics is hard to read. I almost gave up on it.

The POV character is generally relatable, has a solid foundation for development, but every few pages the author breaks the character's POV and inserts his own. Often with internal dialogue that starts in character and ends with the author as POV in the same sentence with tidbits like "I love this system!" or "I friggin love magic!" It's jarring and breaks the reader out of paying attention to the story.

Several elements in some scenes are overly contrived. I've teleported to a fantasy world, I need to climb down the outside of a miles high tower (for a few levels), so I pop in some airpods and play music... a minute later as I'm learning stealth I find out I forgot to turn off my phone and some alarm I set a month ago goes off alerting the thing I'm trying to sneak up on.

The incredible number of exclamation points. I'm not kidding! There are several places where multiple sentences in a row end with an exclamation point! It's ridiculous! It breaks the reader out of the story! It's damned exhausting to read so many exclamation points! The number of exclamation points needs to be reduced by 99.9%.

Some of the descriptive writing is bad. A character is creeping up on an enemy, but pauses and waits "cautiously". A lot like that.

Some number of book said-isms, I lost count and just started mentally editing them. These are always wrong unless you are being intentionally facetious.

Some of the characterizations are cartoonish. Absurdly so.

The pros:

This guy just needs a good editor. A person with real knowledge of the written word to help him sort some things out. Maybe a writers group to give him feedback.

The imagination behind the story is genuine.

Conclusion:

It's not really worth money in it's current form. If you buy it, be warned.

Review: While I can't agree with the direction the author takes the MC all of the time, I cannot help but acknowledge that even when I'm half tempted to throw my kindle I still can't put this book down. The world is well thought out and has plenty of room to expand, and there is definite character growth. The biggest selling point for me was that the author did not just call the novel quits after the first moderate hurdle that the MC overcomes, he kept the story flowing. I can't wait to see the next installment in this series, I'll be binge reading it as soon as it's online.

Review: High quality of prose for this story. Combat is visceral and graphic, but well-written. Character goes through a lot of intense growth throughout the book. A long story, which makes for a great read. Check it out if you're prepared for intense content.

Review: Brightblade has great promise, with the balance of LitRPG mechanics and the sprawl of an epic fantasy. Every chapter gives a little more, from character to world building, delivered with humor and directness by an MC (Jax) who learns as he goes and makes a difference.

This is up there with the greats. Well worth the read and the next can't come soon enough. In time, the scope will truly be epic - warfare, crafting, settlement building, and a search for a lost brother.

Review: So the book is pretty well written the prologue would suck you in very fast, it is a dark litrpg so you should expect quite a bit of gore among other things, but this book is way more biggest then amazon says as well as very interesting start to the litrpg elements i can't recommend this enough. A new author with a amazing story to tell just know the MC is not perfect sometimes i'd call him downright stupid but you know he's human! He makes mistakes has dumb thoughts and learn from them. He's decent for the most part even with his flaws 5/5 for making realistic characters instead of them following a archetype or something!

Title: Worth every cent and then some

Review: If you are unsure (like i was despite good reviews on reddit) just buy it.

If you need more than my word here we go:

1. This is not a slice of life or a wandering into side quest land story. The author keeps the story laser focused. And when I say laser, I mean rapid fire blaster. There are multiple "arcs" in the book that follow each other organically. Nothing is superfluous and the story continuous. No bs that brings nothing to the overall story.

2. The protagonist evolves. I disliked the character a little in the beginning but he evolves along his stats (one of the few books where points in stats change the character)

3. Well written.

4. Worth the money (see point 1). I often had the good suprise of seeing I was only so far into the book and so much happened. As a reader it is agreat feeling of seeing you still have 70% of the book to read when it feels another book would be almost done. Action packed!

5. Not easy to pull of but it is original enough to be refreshing.

Review: Too many fantasy novels/series either get bogged down in overbaked ideas left half finished and forgotten, repetitive dialogue, and/or inane details. Not the case here! "Underverse" has plenty of depth and detail without droning on and on. The best part, though? The protagonist!!! FINALLY, a hero/main character that is neither "larger then life", insecure, NOR power/advancement/level driven! He's a regular Joe Schmoe, from the lower rungs of society, that has always struggled with anger. Especially anger towards individuals with power(strength, money, position, etc) that take advantage of others less fortunate. He struggles to build a home, foundation, and refuge for those whom society steps on, in a new world he is clueless about. Using any and every resource he can find, he WILL free, and empower, the oppressed to stand strong against the tyrants bent on destroying or enslaving them all!
