  Review: I am so impressed with this book, especially considering the price! It was delivered quickly with no damage. A good variety of different kinds of cute purses. I have been crocheting for years now so I’m pretty experienced. I’m always looking for new patterns and books to pick up and try! I ran into this and thought for the price I couldn’t go wrong. I did not expect such a nice book. It is spiral bound with a nice feel to the pages. You can open it up flat which is nice when your trying to read the pattern as you go you don’t have to fight to keep your page! It is large so the print is easier to read. Most of the patterns are laid out nice and clear for you. This would be great for any Beginner as it has detailed description and instructions of all the stitches and abbreviations used for patterns. Step by step directions so you can learn each of the stitches before going to make your purse. There is Even a section on finishing techniques, edging and joining! As stated great for any beginner to have this to reference even if they are not making something out of this book. There is also a nice selection of different types of purses to make! I have ordered enough yarn to make three of them already and I can’t wait to get started!! My only real complaints would be.. on the hobo purse pattern it says for materials: leather purse strap. I wish they would let you know what they used exactly to fit the purse. How thick of a strap? How long? I don’t see dimensions for the finished project either so I don’t really know the size of it yet. I’m going to make the purse and then decide what to get because of this. Some of them do list sizes for certain patterns extra materials but I also noticed the same with the round handle bag it has plastic handles and it just says 2 round handles instead of letting you know what exact size you should use. Finished dimensions of the purses would remedy this as I could take a more accurate guess. Actually it would just be nice to know the size anyways. As far as things that could be wrong I consider this to be a minimum thing and still give five stars and highly recommend!! I am especially so extremely excited to make the Granny messenger bag!! It’s so cute and I love granny squares! Can’t wait to carry it around and make my family and friends some kick butt purses!!

  Title: Nice Crochet Patterns for Bags for under $7.00 (IMHO)

  Review: This is a really nice, spiral bound book with 12 patterns for different types of bags. I like most of the patterns and will be making a few soon. For advance Crocheters, the pattern stitches can easily be swapped out to stitches you like better and also you can alter the size that best fits your style. I really like the Granny style Messenger bag (on the front cover), but, don't care for the granny square used, so will use one I like better. There is also a section combining stitches, finishing techniques (for edgings and joining pieces together) like picot stitch, crab stitch, whip stitching, ladder stitch join. Here is the complete list of the 12 bag patterns offered in this book:

  Review: I am surprised by the quality - very professional pictures, layout and instruction.
  It's hard to believe it's only 64 pages. It starts with beginner crochet then gives 10 crochet patterns to learn, then 8 edgings to learn then you are ready for the 12 purses - all look useful and all have instruction for extras like sewing in zippers, etc. Nothing weird here. The yoga tote won't be for everyone as it's a circular bag for the yoga mat. I have a few mats that could use it. I would change the granny square messenger bag on the cover to a different closed stitch that is more modern. But that is the best part of this book - these get you started and you can use them for the foundation to make what you want. I doubt any of these projects take over 2 hours. I'm glad I bought it. I will be making at least 4 - the messenger bag, hobo purse, market bag and backpack. I can also see my self making the chunky tote only with less chunky yarn and a different stitch pattern, the cross body bag and the mini-bag - again using a different stitch pattern.
