When a horrifically battered young woman by chance makes her way to a small southern town (or should we say it is a 'God incidence?'), she is taken in by Lulu, owner of Lulu's Cafe, and loved on and nurtured. Still, Leah Allen is broken and pain is her portion. Not just physical pain, of which there is definitely plenty, but emotional pain, heartrending pain so strong and deep the reader feels bruised reading it. But God has led Leah to this place of healing and as the weeks and months pass, healing starts. Crowley Mason, attorney, cafe patron and most eligible bachelor, senses something in Leah that grabs his heart. Can Leah achieve the full healing her heart needs? Will these scars ever be not visible?

I'll be flat honest with you: this is not an easy book to read. It is deeply painful to read. So painful that at times I wanted to set it aside. But it kept drawing me back. I discovered T.I. Lowe's books earlier this year and was drawn in so very much. This one showcases her writing ability incredibly well. My goodness, how this book touched my heart! It is a wonderful testament to how God heals and the redemption that he extends to His children. I loved it so much and can very highly recommend it. Such a powerful story! Don't miss this book.

Title: Sweet Love Story- A Few Concerns

Review: I’ve read several books by the author, and really appreciate the level of faith and way that she tells stories. I’m always drawn in from the first page to the last. This one was no different, and kept me up late reading to find out what happens next with Crawley and Leah’s love story.
However, there were several areas where I wasn’t completely on board. Leah is severely abused at the beginning of the story, and it’s difficult to read. She is overweight and it’s mentioned again and again. The book goes on and on about the importance of healthy eating. Crawley only begins to show interest in her once she starts losing weight. Thank you, next right?
They also banter back and forth like immature teenagers instead of the grown adults they are. Crawley goes on and on about how he wants to have a huge family and even confirms with doctors that she can get pregnant again after all her abuse. Really?
When someone is sexually abused, I wouldn’t think that would be the main concern of her love interest. It just felt chauvinistic to me.
( Spoiler) By the end of the book she is pregnant with her 6th child b/c Crawley can’t keep his hands off. Again.. dominated by a man’s desire for as many kids as is wife can possibly have.

Saying all that, this wasn’t my favorite read, but I was still very much entangled in the story. The overall message of needing to heal the inside and not looking for that from anything outside Jesus was very appreciative. The book ends with a beautiful picture of their life together. I just wish Leah had a little more say over it.

Review: This book is one of my all time favorites. I have read it many times!

It's real. It's honest. It doesn't hold back on domestic violence and the devastation that it causes.
But the best part...it also doesn't hold back on FAITH. HOPE. LOVE.

Violence can break a person, but HOPE and LOVE can bring new life. This book has ALL of this.

From the first words to the last...you will be drawn in and you will feel like you are part of this story. Anger, crying, hurting, laughing, and loving. ALL the emotions. That's what you will feel. All the emotions.

T.I. Lowe is one of my favorite authors. Because she shares real life. It doesn't get more real than this. I HIGHLY recommend this book! I believe this is a story of life-changing hope. I pray that it will open eyes, hearts, and change lives. I truly believe that it can and it will.

God is using this book to remind others that He can and WILL use the most terrible things and use them for good. God is a mighty healer and I believe this book shows that powerful healing.

Title: Best book I've read in a long long time.

Review: I couldn't put this book down. At first I thought it was going to be hard to take, things the heroine goes through, but the author skillfully took me to the edge of being too much to handle, but somehow never went over the line. As if watching something graphic on TV, I could 'look away' enough to handle it, and those parts didn't last forever. Once the 'situation' changed, I HAD to find out where life, and God, would take Leah. So many great and colorful characters in this book, and they became so real. The world of their little town became a real place. I must say, the conclusion of the drama took a twist (gladly) that I wasn't expecting, and things I feared the author would do to the heroine, she didn't. :) The epilogue was wonderful, and very satisfying, bringing everything around full circle and leaving me with a satisfied smile. Much like one of Leah's beloved donuts, lol. This is a great story, free from profanity and graphic sex, and very enjoyable. I can't remember when I've enjoyed a story more. Loved Crow (hehe) and Leah, and Lulu and the whole gang. I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good clean romance. Watch out - you just may fall in love with Mr. Crowley Mason.
