This blog is all about my journey being a student teacher at Barra Elementary School.

“ My Literacy Training Service Community Extension Experience”

Overwhelming yet excited is the best statement to describe my first-day experience facilitating students at Barra Elementary School. One of the most unforgettable moments was when I volunteered to entertain the students by singing a nursery rhyme. Nervousness tangled with excitement as I introduced myself to the students, each face representing a world of potential waiting to be unlocked. While waiting to distribute them to their respective facilitator, I asked them if they knew the song "I HAVE TWO HANDS" and one of the students answered my question "BASIC, KABALO NAMAN MI ANA". And I said to myself looks like I'll be challenging here. After distributing the student to their respective facilitator, we had the BPE task to facilitate grades 1 and grade 2, it was too challenging for us to communicate with them because they were too shy to speak. But it does not hinder us from being silent along the way we find a solution to handle the situation. As student teachers, we need to be flexible and sharpen our memory to find strategy to overcome the problems. Even though they are shy but I can see in their eyes the eagerness to explore and discover a new way of learning.

In every Saturday we visit Barra Elementary I observe that the numbers of our learners is increasing. Our student start to built their confidence and put their trust on us. I see improvements, especially in reading while continuing to share the knowledge we can give to them. Through this experience. I found myself immersed in a journey of self- discovery and growth. To be called by your student Teacher Jezriel" inspire me to embrace my passion for teaching and reaffirmed my calling as an educator.

As a student teacher stepping towards my dream, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the lessons learned and the relationships built through this experience. Though the road is not easy to get through. I embark upon it with confidence and dedication, knowing that my journey at Barra Elementary School as a student teacher while help me to develop and unlock the eagerness and potential inside. With passion as my compass and learning as my constant companion, I embrace the future with open arms, ready to inspire and be inspired in the noble pursuit of knowledge.
