Review: This is a topic that I have needed to work on for some time, so when I heard about Daniel A. Miller's new book THE GIFTS OF ACCEPTANCE I knew it was something I would read and have to discuss. Being able to let go of what we want others to do and be and accept them for who they are is a difficult but important task---and it's something that takes work.

Daniel is able to use his own personal experiences to help us see that all of us have work to do in this area, and more importantly why it makes life better for us and the person we feel as though needs to change. This doesn't mean that we condone bad behavior or that we become pushovers. What it does mean is that we realize the importance of focusing on us and our role in the experience and not try to change anyone else.

As Daniel points out sometimes those we want to see take a different path do so on their own, and maybe our being accepting of them gives them the room to make the changes necessary.

A book the entire family can benefit from and will find themselves referring back to, THE GIFTS OF ACCEPTANCE is indeed a gift to those who read it and take it to heart.

Review: So very WORTH IT. I read the title and thought, “ I don’t know, there are still several issues I’ve dealt with from my past that have wounded me to the core, but nag me from time to time. They ride me.
Betrayal. Abandonment. Rage from someone toward me. ”
I have processed for years, therapy, meditation, etc, ..and I’m happy to say I can wake up every morning, put both feet on the ground , and function to a satisfying level.
Tada.
Is it possible that now , maybe... dare I say it....maybe I can be accepting?
Could I actually move onto acceptance? Hadn’t really thought about it.
So I got this book GIFTS OF ACCEPTANCE.
I am currently reading all these new approaches and ideas from the author... and I am feeling a pressure lifting off me.
The words he uses make logical sense.
Not all touchy feely, and I’m a touchy feely person! Lol.
But im so grateful this book crossed my path now..
“Enough already” I said to myself.
Time to move through my stuff instead of just getting past all my experiences that can still trip me up. I’m in. Wish me luck!
Thank you Mr Miller! Perfect timing for me to hear about this book on acceptance.

Title: Life saver during COVID

Review: I've been struggling a lot to accept all the changes that have come with the pandemic, as well as the frustrating accompanying politics. It's also been hard to accept the changes in lifestyle -- going from doing whatever [we] wanted to not being able to do a lot of things due to social distancing, fear of contracting the virus and whatnot. Reading this book has singlehandedly enabled me to become a more accepting and peaceful person. It is a phenomenal read that every single person can benefit from. If we all just followed this book's core principles, the world would be a more peaceful place. I can't recommend "Gifts of Acceptance" enough. Highly recommended.

Title: An invitation to freedom

Review: I’m halfway through the book...have never paused to write a review...but felt like I wanted to advocate for anyone considering investing in this book. The invitation to “accept what is” has already brought me bits of relief, hope, peace, and good cheer.

I can now understand how “acceptance” will help me confront why I CANNOT accept, and then move toward healing my own woundedness. (my journaling has become more gentle, loving toward myself and others, healing, real.) Somehow this is taking place in a really gentle way. This is not a book that’s going to make you feel like it’s attacking you. It’s an invitation to love, joy, peace, freedom.

The author’s stories and others’ keep it real. We are not alone!

We do need to pause and grieve in life. Sometimes for awhile as grief has it’s important way with us. But “acceptance” can help us LIVE into our lives when we are ready. I was ready, and have been blessed by this book’s helpful coaching already.

Review: My appreciation of Daniel Miller’s book only dawned on me months after I read it. We are all dealing with some events, people and situations over which we have no control. The book reinforced the idea that, at times, I too need to keep my strong opinions in check and must also accept decisions and outcomes with which I do not totally agree. Most books quickly fade in memory and are replaced by ever changing events, but Daniel’s book on acceptance is often relevant to daily situations. I would have preferred the message of chapter three to be emphasized in chapter one.

Review: I have already recommended this book to several friends and clients. It's terrific, and timely too, especially with all that is going on in the world.. The true life stories of ACCEPTANCE that the author shares are gut wrenching and heart warning both. Miller's book challenges us to let go of control, to move out of victimhood into victory by mindfully accepting what is and what isn't. The book is full of 'hope and possibility' and specific steps and practices on how to live a more peaceful, meaningful and joy filled life. I love the book, and would give it more than five stars if I could!
