"DGFI and some of their operations"

DGFI is the main intelligence agency of Bangladesh. DGFI was formally established in 1972 under the then Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Then its name was Directorate of Forces Intelligence (DFI). In 1977 President Ziaur Rahman changed the structure of this organization and it was named Directorate General of Defense Intelligence or Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI). Bangladesh Air Force Group Captain KM Aminul Islam Khan was the first director of DFI. On March 8, 1994, the new organogram of the organization was made.

Now let's know some operations of DGFI:

A Bangladeshi DGFI agent joined the R&AW by concealing his nationality where he was identified as Diwan Chand Mallik. He obtained important intelligence information which was said to be detrimental to India's national security. He joined the agency in 1999 and resided in East Delhi. A case of cheating and forgery was registered against him at Lodhi Colony police station on the complaint of a senior officer of RAW. There was no trace of him later.

India also blames Bangladesh's DGFI for various reasons. For example: Over the years, DGFI has been accused of helping Indian separatists from the Northeast and Kashmir. The Indian government and media have accused Bangladesh of involvement in the 2002 attack on the American Cultural Center in Kolkata. They also blamed DGFI and ISI for planning coordinated attacks in Assam, Tripura and Bihar.

Several Indian media claimed to have found evidence of DGFI involvement in the 2008 Assam bombings. According to reports, the blueprint was drawn up at a three-day conclave held between October 15 and 17 at Dhulikhel, 30 km north of Kathmandu. Sources said Col Ahmed Sufi of the DGFI had drawn up a detailed blueprint targeting North-East Indian states. The ISI is represented by a lieutenant general-level officer responsible for looking after South Asian affairs. Sources said the ISI officer took a circuitous route from Dubai to Dhaka in Pakistan before reaching Kathmandu via Biman Bangladesh Airlines to avoid the suspicion of Indian security agencies.

Leading Indian newspapers; DNA published a report in 2008 claiming the presence of around a hundred DGFI operatives in eastern India. The newspaper also claimed that the agency had created a group of seven to ten people across India, each headed by DGFI's highly sophisticated Bureau X. According to the Intelligence Wing of the West Bengal Police, there are around fifteen Bureau X agents active in West Bengal, each trained in the handling of sophisticated weapons and fluent in multiple languages ​​and the various dialects of the Indo-Bangladesh border districts.

However, after 2008, DGFI's attack on politicians and special persons of its own country has repeatedly surfaced and has been published in many foreign media.
