Review: I can't thank Herb enough for writing this book. It has literally changed the way I view and practice recovery in an incredibly magnificent way. It's now my "go to" recovery book (aside from the Big Book). The nuggets of wisdom are packed so tightly that you can read it over and over again and always gain more perspective. I love how Herb encourages the reader to continue to "push the envelope" in terms of spiritual growth. I've found that when I don't do this, I regress. But when I do, I get fantastic results.

I only have 9 months of sobriety and when I picked up the book I was on Step 3 (for the second time...I started the steps over with a new sponsor after getting to Step 6). If you're early in recovery and not yet to Step 11...even if you're only on Step 1...do not let that deter you from reading this book. In fact, I'd encourage you to read this book even more. You will establish a framework - a spiritual paradigm shift of sorts - that will make every minute you spend on your recovery SO much more powerful and fruitful.

Review: Another excellent work by Herb K.
As a Buddhist with a daily mindful meditation practice for the past 9 years, I learned quite a few tidbits from the book. I highly recommend it, as it is appropriate for people following any formal religion, spirituality practice or even the agnostic / atheist.
Herb K's books are not only for people with addictions. They are focused on helping individuals attain a Spiritual Awakening, thereby enabling anyone to be able to live a life that is less stressful and more grounded in the Present.
I read and used Herb's first book 12 years ago. It has been instrumental in changing my life as well as my attitude about life for the better. This book will now be my tool for maintaining a Spiritual life with a conscious connection to my Higher Power.

Review: Very thoughtful book. I'd been wanting to get a book on meditation for the last couple of years but there are so many out there I didn't know where to start. Then I heard about this book. Talk about big things coming in small packages. It isn't long but it is concentrated with wonderful insights about prayer, meditation, living a life that is free of drama and purposeful.

I also followed the instructions in the book. Where it asked questions, I thought about them, then wrote down my answers in my journal. I also highlighted and rewrote a lot of the insights throughout the book in the margins. So my book is pretty messy now but I wanted to have an experience with it, which is what the author suggests, and I did.
