The Biafran Igbo Man in Africa

I am an Igbo man. I am not American, nor am I European. We have our own rich culture, our unique way of life, and our distinct methods of addressing those who fail to respect themselves, regardless of who they are or what they think they represent.

In our tradition, we do not apologize to elders who fail to respect themselves. The Igbo people are among the most intelligent and resilient tribes in Africa, if not the entire world. We don't beg to feed; we work diligently to develop any place we find ourselves in.

If you think an Igbo boy will apologize to an elder when it is evident that the elder is at fault or has done something wrong, then you are mistaken. It is truth and justice that drive an Igbo man. Anything apart from that will cause him to distance himself from you, and it can even lead to separation in marriage.

If you ask me to apologize to someone who is clearly in the wrong and stands by their error for reasons known only to them, you are effectively telling me to run away from you. So, if you have dealings with an Igbo man, make sure you always come to the table with truth and justice. Otherwise, you may find yourself facing conflict, regardless of who you are or what you think you represent.

Thank you.
