Review: I didn’t like any of the recipes. The Christmas cookie recipe is a joke. Cut the cookies 1 inch in diameter? I don’t think so. I grew up in Germany. Those recipes aren’t bad but they are not German.

Review: Many of these recipes are similar to the ones I grew up on in a German American home. I was pleased to see them included in this book. While not extensive,. It is a good basic cookbook for anyone interested in German food. I feel like I need to emphasize that German Chocolate Cake was invented in America by a man named Samuel German for the Baker's chocolate company. The name was originally "German's chocolate cake". The " s" was dropped after a time. Anyone who has researched German cuisine should know this.
