Title: Wonderful first hand account of a auto racer's early career

Review: Bruce McLaren's "From The Cockpit" is a very readable and interesting
account of the early career of one of the most accomplished drivers in motor racing history. Mr. McLaren overcame child hood illness to achieve the top levels of motorsport. He was an accomplished engineer as well as a driver. He and Sir Jack Brabham are the only men in history to build their own winning Formular One race cars. As this book proves he was an excellent writer as well. He was killed testing one of his own race cars in 1970. The world lost a great husband, father, race car builder and driver and a talented writer as well. This book belongs in the library of anyone interested in the history of motorsport.

Review: Bruce McLaren was a great New Zealander and I saw him race many times. Any information about him is good.
What a shame to lose him so early but that is the sport and it is ever present.
Good to hear his take on things as well.

Review: Most enjoyable - extremely pleased they chose to republish. For the most part, a linear history of his racing development ("Driver to Europe," etc.) thence brief season-by-season/race-by-race narratives. He was clearly a top driver from the time he arrived. It's fun to read how his interest in car development evolved.
