Once upon a time a great feast was declared in the heaven for all the birds only and great preparations are seen among the birds for the day.

Tortoise heard about the feast and decided to attend because of the famine in the land but was perturbed for not having wings to fly to the venue,he visited parrot his friend, making known his intention to join them,the birds for the feast, parrot laughed out loud and ask him how could you do that when you can not fly and tortoise replied, that is why I have come to plead with you to lend me some feathers, parrot was silent for a while and said to tortoise I know you too well, you are a deceiver, tortoise said,my friend I am now a changed person, after a long argument among them tortoise convinced parrot and he plucked out two feathers for him to be returned after the event.

The day for the event came, all the birds including tortoise assembled to set out together, tortoise been a selfish fellow told the birds that we shall all take a new name for the event and he the tortoise took the name ALL Of YOU and all the birds took theirs without knowing the danger of tortoise name, tortoise was appointed to be their speaker because he is a great orator.

They all arrived heaven successful and their host were pleased, tortoise appreciated them in return and they were much elated and noticing that he looks different, they admitted that he must be their king.

Their host brought out all the delicacies they have prepared and also drink, tortoise could not hold him self because of the nice looking of the foods,then tortoise stood up and asked their host, the foods are for who? and they answered it is for all of you and tortoise turned to the birds and said hope you all remember that all of you is my name and all the birds murmured, tortoise began to eat and drink alone, after he has eaten the best part of the foods,he then said you can now eat, all the birds were furious, they took the feathers angrily from him and flew back to earth remaining parrot.

Tortoise now without feathers to return to earth pleaded with parrot to tell his wife to bring out all the soft things in his house, so he could land on them when he falls from heaven, parrot refused but at last agreed and when he got to tortoise house he gave the wife contrary message and she brought out all the metals and wooden things they have, tortoise looked from heaven and saw all things but couldn't see them well because of the distance, jumped down and landed on the metal and broke into piece, luckily to him his wife is a great herbalist,she was able fixe and treat tortoise to the looks he has now.
