*Imran Khan: An Inspirational Leader and symbol of optimism*

*Early life* : The 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan who is the symbol of optimism was born on October 5, 1952 in Lahore. He joined Pakistan cricket team in 197. In the meanwhile, he was studying in Oxford University. He graduated from Oxford University in 1976. He was a good athlete and after 2 decades of joining cricket team, under his captaincy, the Pakistani cricket team won the world cup in 1992. This was our first world cup in the history of cricket and it is still celebrated as a great achievement.

*Political career:*

After the retirement from cricket in 1992, he joined politics. He founded his own party, Pakistan tehrik -e- insaaf(PTI), in 1996. After 6 years, in 2002, he won 1 seat in National Assembly(NA) of Pakistan which was filled by Imran Khan. In 2013, he won a great number of seats but not to such an extent that he could be a Prime Minister. After 5 years, in 2018, PTI won a great number of seats in National Assembly and Imran Khan was elected as a Prime Minister. This was the result of his hard work.

*Contributions*

Built Shaukat khanum memorial Cancer hospital and research centre in 1994 in Lahore and it's other branches are in Peshawar and Karachi.

*Contributions as a PM* :

1. Imran Khan introduced sehat card for the needy people to improve healthcare system.

2. He built different universities and educational institutions like NUML in Gujarat and one university in Jhelum near domeli which was under construction when he was removed from the seat of PM and now the construction work of this university is stopped.

3. Received investment and aid from different countries like China, Saudi Arabia, UAE and he was going to receive big amount of oil or petrol from Iran but that was stopped when he was removed from the seat of PM.

4. He approved 5 educational bills in 2020 and 202.

5. Khatm e nabuwwat act.

6. Promoted Islam in different ways.

7. Promoted tourism in Pakistan

*Struggle against corruption:*

He faught a war against the corrupt system and corrupt people when he was Prime Minister, and he is still fighting till now. He is a fearless person who does not compromise on his vision and corruption.

*Challenges*

Regardless of facing a lot of challenges like external and internal pressure and strong political opposition, he is still stubborn to his vision of making Pakistan a progressive country. This vision has made him popular among the youth and inspired the youth. Youth see him as a symbol of optimism among the corrupt system.

*Lost his Prime ministership:*

He was removed in 2022 by no confidence vote. It was the first time in Pakistan's history that a leader was removed by no confidence measure.

*After that*, he protested a lot of times in different cities of Pakistan.

*9th May 2023*

He was arrested on 9th May 2023 for a corruption case, but till now, nothing is proven against him. On May 9th, 2023 people protested and the government said it was all Imran Khan's propaganda. But he was granted with bail on immediate basis for 9th May case and for 11 other cases. There is no evidence against him till now, but he is still in jail for political reasons or maybe due to political enmity.

*2024 elections:*

In 2024 elections, his party symbol was grabbed and a lot of symbols were given to them by Court ,but, still independents won 102 seats in National Assembly but even with that, they can't lead due to unknown reasons. The recent prime minister is from PML-N for some good reasons.

*Conclusion:*

The journey of Imran khan, from a cricketer to a prime minister and from a Prime Minister to a person who is in jail is a memoir of unwavering loyalty, devotion and belief in Pakistan's potential. Pakistan is facing a lot of challenges. In this state Imran Khan is a leader who gives us hope for a better future in the present time.
