Title: Wonderful resource!

Review: Wonderful graphic novel version of the Bible. This is a great addition to our children’s library. While I prefer the KJV Bible for study time, this is wonderful for creating personal interest for children and helping them grow a desire to read the scriptures and also to help them understand it better. All in all, wonderful - just remember to read the Bible with your children. Help them to culture a love for the scripture.

Review: Great comic book Bible, not dark like some. I had an earlier version when I was younger, which was read until it fell completely apart. I hunted for just this one, and because I couldn't see the inside pages, I took a risk and ordered it. It is great, and my kids, who are older than the recommended ages, still like it and read it right away. They are very advanced readers, so it is great and pleased me that this Bible maintained their interest even after it took me so long to find one.

Review: I am finally writing a review now on this, but honestly, I have been using this book for over thirty years now. I started with a Picture Bible that was in three sections, which I cannot find anymore, and read them constantly growing up. It really helped me as a young person to visually the stories of the Bibles and I still prefer the art in here over the art in other modern picture Bibles. Not everything is 100% accurate, but it is close enough that it is a great learning tool for young people (or old people if you still like comics).

I especially like that it breaks down into individual stories, prefaced by a Scripture heading for each. I recommended this to another minister that I mentor and she is now using one lesson at a time with kids in her study. I keep buying more of these because I keep giving them away to others, but I always want to have one for my children as they grow as well.

Title: Just an update of the old one I had when I was a kid....

Review: I bought one of these for each of my children. Basically it is biblical stories and highlights in comic book format(ALL pictures with text bubbles). THis is great and is what I like about this picture bible as opposed to other that I have seen and owned that simply try to dumb down the biblical language for kids and add a colorful picture every few pages -- they're ok, but in my opinion the comic book format is much better at holding the attention of kids...at least it was for me. I remember reading it during church when I was a kid and I have to tell you that this book as well as the "superbook" and "flying house" videos are what I grew up on and where I gained MOST of my initial knowledge and understanding of the Bible. Stories that I remember reading about from this book still stay with me to this day...people who have been reading the "grown up" bible look at me with blank expressions some times when I talk about stories that they don't even remember and have never really grasped just because they have never been able to see it in such vivid PICTURE format.

I recommend this book for ALL children...if you want them to grow up with a good foundation of knowlege of the bible then this is the book you want.

Review: I Love This Picture Bible!!

I am 64 years old, and maybe the oldest kid of all !! Years ago, I bought these Bibles; one for my own children, some as gifts for other children, and also for other families with children. In one family the dad, who did not like to read at all, read this through and loved it. It is a great way to introduce the Bible to those who might think the Bible is boring or hard to understand. What is really nice is that you can get a quick, Big picture of the main stories throughout the entire Bible. You don't get slowed down with lots of details. You get the main stories with their lessons quickly; and then compiled one upon another, so that reading this becomes a "shot in the arm", or a therapeutic dose of God's Word. It is a Great way to get the Full, Big Picture quickly before going into a much slower detailed, and completely accurate study of God's Word.

I just spent the last 3 weeks reading through this Picture Bible yet again. It did for me exactly what it did for me the first time I read it; when I read it over 30 years ago. It built my Faith in God very strong!! It reminded me of the extreme importance of our obedience to God. It reminded me of the very harmful consequences of sin and disobeying God!! It reminded me of God's Goodness, Forgiveness, Grace, & Mercy!! It made me think about how we cannot ever afford to compromise, but rather give God our Very Best; and to do all things by Faith in God. It reminded me that God alone is my BEST Strength and Help!! It rekindled a "Fire" in my heart. I am now purchasing these Bibles again to share with more children; hoping that the Picture Bibles will also fall into the hands of more adults who will read them :) Shalom Blessings!!

Review: So happy the original classic I grew up with is available for purchase again! Granted, the “Action Bible” is a more biblically accurate graphic novel representation of the Bible for older readers and is a wonderful official update of the picture bible, but there’s something to be said about the classic artwork and style of the original picture Bible!

Review: Have a copy of this from back in the 1980's and it's now falling apart. Both of my children read and re-read it. It's design is graphic novel, and this book covers the most Bible stories of any children's Bible I've ever seen.
Purchasing a new copy for my grandson now :)

Title: I first read it when I was a teenager in ...

Review: I first read it when I was a teenager in a different languange version and it was a black and white version. Now, my 7 yo has been diligently reading this and carrying it around to school, in the car, wherever she goes. This is a lot to say since this book is heavy and that kid of mine still wants to carry it since she loves it so much. Often, at the end of the day when we brush, she will tell me the stories she read that day. This helps me teach her about the differences between what the world sees as important and what the bible teaches us about the topic.
