Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The trail spanning the Annapurna Base Camp trek encompasses the region owing to the belief of the Magar and Gurung tribes according to whom the region is home to the gods and a huge deposit of gold and precious metals. Each peak, waterfall, river, and forest in the trek to ABC has its own story surrounded by the local lore and the next day brings something different and utterly unexpected. The base camp itself is a snowy coliseum of herculean glaciers and the lofty Himalayas piercing the silvery skyline. All in all, the Annapurna Sanctuary trek is a grand journey that mixes both the cultural and natural aspects of the Annapurna region.

The Annapurna Base Camp Trekking begins from the trailhead at Pokhara. The city of lakes surrounded by mesmerizing landscapes is a 7-hour drive away from Kathmandu beyond which we begin our trekking. We begin our adventure from Nayapul towards Tikhedhunga heading to Ghorepani right on the foot of the mesmerizing Poonhill. Our first taste of Himalayan sunrise is the captivating Himalayan vistas like Manaslu(8,163m), Gangapurna (7,454m), the fish-tailed Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Lamjung Himal (6,983m) and countless other Himalayas of the Annapurna Range is illuminated by the rising sun.

Through lush green forests filled with oak, juniper and rhododendron treks we continue our journey through the vibrant hamlets of Ghorepani, and Tadapani finally landing at Chhomrong. Guided by the majestic Himalayas of theĀ Annapurna Himalayan range we continue our journey in the Annapurna base camp trek route towards the settlement of Dovan and Deurali. The following day, we finally reach the base of the world's 10th tallest mountain Annapurna (8,091m) surrounded by the majestic Himalayas stretching towards the horizon. Machhapuchhre (6,997m), Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), and Hiunchuli (6441m) to name among the few presents. The journey then winds down towards Bamboo beyond which lies Jhinu Danda where refreshing hot spring water awaits us. The best Annapurna base camp trekking season is during autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May).
