SPORTS COMMISSIONER INAUGURATES REVENUE REVIEW COMMITTEE

The Sports Commissioner, Hon Agnes Atsu, has taken a significant step toward revitalizing the sports sector by inaugurating a Revenue Review Committee.
She said the committee's primary purpose is to comprehensively assess, review, and re-develop various aspects of the sports industry, as their aim is not only to enhance the overall quality of sports in the region but also to explore income-generating opportunities.
The Commissioner said the move signifies a commitment to bolstering the financial sustainability of sports and ensuring it continues to thrive.
This initiative reinforces the notion that sports are not only a source of recreation but also a potential economic powerhouse.
On behalf of the newly formed Revenue Review Committee, the chairman, Mr. Mike Abang, said the commitee will have a multifaceted mandate, that will conduct a thorough review of the existing sports infrastructure, facilities, and programs to identify areas for improvement and modernization as well as explore innovative revenue-generation strategies, which may include sponsorships, broadcasting rights, merchandise sales, and event hosting.
He said their commitment to revamp and revitalize the sports sector, coupled with a focus on financial sustainability, bodes well for the future.
He hinted that with the collaborative efforts of the committee, stakeholders, and the sports-loving public, the region can anticipate a more vibrant, modern, and financially robust sports industry that continues to inspire and entertain for years to come.
