SURROUNDED BY WITNESSES

Imagine moving around knowing there's a visible and an invisible eye much more efficient than all the best of cameras we have in our days that sees and takes record of everything you do.

Growing up as a little girl I remember my Sunday School teacher (Auntie Emily), her beautiful smile and of course a friend of my mum who was also a Sunday School teacher. How sad I was to know she was sick and passed on months after. But I knew she had gone to Jesus.

Whenever I was naughty or found myself doing something wrong, the first thought that used to come to mind was this - Eeish Auntie Emily is watching from heaven and is seeing all I'm doing.

Fast forward I know it's not just Auntie Emily that sees me but God sees me and even knows what I'm thinking right this moment.

We are surrounded by a host or a cloud of witnesses, cheering us on to run the race set before us with  endurance looking unto Jesus- The Author and Finisher of our faith.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
