Review: I’m confused. Again, I feel like I didn’t read the same book as everyone else. This seems to happen a lot, and maybe it’s an issue with me, but I’m always down to cause problems.

So let’s cause some…😌

First off, y’all are insane if you think I’m going to sit here and trash on this book. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. Was it really good? Yes. The world building is done through some pretty careful and detailed dialogue. Lots of explaining things to get the point across, and it’s done fairly well. You learn a lot from the banter between the characters and the inner dialogue you’re given. The characters? I love them. They’re all relatable and vivacious, the descriptions are fantastic for the movie in my head, and I love their interactions and different voices in the story. The story was intense and held so much passion, and I’m not talking about the sPiCe. Everyone just.. LIVED so hard. Even with all the awful stuff happening around them, they gave a thousand percent to just try and live and live well. It was nice.

Now, as for the spice.. I feel like this is where I’m most confused. A lot of reviewers said it lacked, and that they felt the author was uncomfortable writing about it. They had a list of reasons why this author may or may not actually be comfortable, but what really gets me is that it doesn’t come off that way to me. And I read and reread all the spicy bits to try and parse it out. Spoiler alert: I couldn’t. I didn’t feel a lack of comfort or commitment to the spice. It was written to skew more heavily on the emotional response than the physical, but it was still there. I’ve read some pretty atrocious m/m spicy bits by authors who don’t live that life. They can feel like poor knockoffs of bad porn scenes, or like the author is trying to turn straight sex scenes into something else when they haven’t the first clue as to the mechanics—research, folx, or don’t bother writing the scenes—of queer sex. Hell, most of the time it just feels like fantasy and fetish fodder from those that think they have the right to write like that just to say they did and have zero clue how ANYTHING works. But this didn’t feel like that. It just felt like the author wanted steamy LOVE scenes, not just all-out, go-for-broke fudging. They wanted us to FEEL the emotions that the characters’ physical relationship brought forth. It wasn’t smut, it was actually kinda precious. It was like, Spice Lite, but that didn’t make it weird or anything to me.

All that being said, I really enjoyed this book. The mechanics weren’t bad at all, and while I’m still not saying any of it was perfect, as a whole, this book gave. I enjoyed it, and I’m excited to see each of the sins get their HEA, because they deserve them.

Review: Galen is Wrath, one of the 7 deadly sins. Cursed for the sins of their fathers but the protectors of humanity. The demons are after Simon having received a shipment from an estate sale, one that holds an evil that the demons need. Galen will do anything to protect Simon, the one human who can tame his wrath.

Review: This is an amazing start to what I hope is the beginning of an amazing series. The world building is great and maybe in the future we will see a series on the other creatures in this book.
Galen and Simon are perfect for each other. Galen and his brothers a Nephlim from fallen angels. They fight for good and humans. Each and every one of them are enticing, and I can't wait for their books.
This book of full of warmth and feeling along with indignation and angst.

You will fall in love with this book.

Review: So to start, I haven’t finished this book yet, I’ll update when I do. But my god I’m cringing rn. The dialogue and interactions between characters is so forced and weird. Like, when Galen and Simon talk at Galen’s place, it’s so clear that the author just wanted to get to the romance and that’s fine, but the way she did it just doesn’t flow.

Ntm, it’s so so so clear that Simon is supposed to be “oh so sassy smart ass cutsie bottom” when it’s just cringy like SPOILER you almost lost your life and the guy who broke into your store has now kidnapped you, and you’re making quippy retorts. END OF SPOILER

And the banter when they have their first extended interaction is also forced. Idk, it’s very evident that the author wanted to make their relationship dynamic form as quickly as possible, but this just results in weird awkward dialogue that makes zero sense in the context of the situation.

Hopefully I can make it past this part bc I really like the concept and the brothers seem cool. It just needs a more organic flow…

Update: okay, you gotta force yourself through the beginning. Just keep reading past the cringy forced dialogue and then you’ll see the true gold this book is. I couldn’t put it down. Genuinely a phenomenal read, Galen’s possessiveness, the high stakes, beautifully crafted.

It was definitely Insta lovey which is why I think I was so turned off at first, but eventually, as you get to know the characters and they learn about each other, it begins to work. Really great, can’t wait for book 2 :)

Review: This book has the start of a really great series. The start of the plot and MCs story really makes you interested in where the story will lead to next. There are holes in the story line but it feels intentional like puzzle pieces you will find in each book that will eventually come together toward the end. This book has plenty of steam! And the angst is perfect. I would recommend to readers who like a multi book plot and who love grump/sunshine/HEA story lines.

Review: I have to admit, it took me a while to get around to reading this serves, though only because my tbr is rather vast. But I have fo say, I wasn't expecting how sweet and tender the romance would be. They had real moments of affection outside of sex, they laughed and joked while being intimate. They were playful. And the family dynamics, I really wasn't expecting how exuberant and kind tge brothers would be. And I especially wasn't expecting how quickly they folded Simon into their family. Normally I don't get to see this kind of softness with PNR or characters with as dark a past as the brothers. This was refreshing. I loved it and look forward to reading the rest.
