Jesus asks us to extend his love toward our family, friends, and church community. In fact, we are told to love God and our neighbors as we love ourselves. Discover these opportunities to share the love of Christ with others. Find out how praying for others and spending time with them makes a huge difference. 

Pray for Others

Prayer is the most powerful form of communication. When your alone time with God includes praying for other people, that shows genuine love toward others. This is precisely how Jesus Christ loves. His love is not loud or boastful but quiet and heartfelt. 

Jesus also prayed for his disciples as a way of sending blessings to them. Praying for other people may include wishing they experience comfort, peace, and wisdom. Pray that God instills strength, composure, and provision in them. 

Encourage Other People

Another opportunity to share the love of Christ with others is by encouraging them. Everyone is fighting a secret battle you know nothing about. Maybe you are carrying some burden as well. 

Ensure the actions and words that come out of you are encouraging and inspiring. Encouraging others means helping them keep their spirits high. A simple “good luck” or “you can do it” can uplift someone’s mood! Give them hope and faith. Make them feel that the Holy Spirit is guiding them. 

Minister to Others

The Bible states that anyone can be a minister. It’s not only the pastors or priests who can share God’s Word. In fact, the Bible tells us that we can all bring hope to another individual through the Scripture. The important thing is we present stories of our encounters with God. 

Tell them how God has helped you face your worst challenges and how He continues comforting His people. Let people know that God is present everywhere we go so that we can be tools for their healing.

Spend Time With People

One of the five love languages is quality time. So if you want to share God’s love, you can do it by spending time with them. Jesus Christ also enjoyed spending time with people. He attended weddings, had supper, and hung out with people beside the sea to preach God’s love.

You don’t have to spend much money to show your love. You also don’t have to say the most profound words of affirmation. You can simply be there for them. Be present and show up during the good and bad times. 

Perform Acts of Kindness

Simple acts of kindness also reveal your concern and affection toward fellow believers. Ask yourself, what does this person need right now? Should I offer a hug? Buy them a meal? Or do they need someone who can listen to them?

Being thoughtful also means helping seniors cross the street, petting a dog, or helping coworkers finish tasks. Remember that the Bible says, “love is not self-seeking.”

Be Vulnerable

Being vulnerable and expressive about our current struggles helps other people who share the same experience. These stories help create communities that share the same challenges and seek the same love from God. It is also an avenue to spread the news about God’s goodness.

Making other people feel heard is Christ’s forte. Don’t forget to tell people that these obstacles are temporary and that God’s love endures. 

Host Others

“By this, my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.” – John 15:8-10

Hosting others is another way to show God’s love. Open up your home and serve them like God would open His kingdom to serve you. Knowing your home is filled with the Holy Spirit’s blessing will feel more comfortable and welcoming.

Be Creative

Use your talents to share the love of Jesus. Whether it’s by volunteering to join the Sunday Choir or making art about God’s message, there are many ways to communicate your kindness. You don’t need to spend much money doing these things, too!
