Blue Eyes

I'm always excited about Sundays as it gives me an opportunity to interact with my Little Daisy's (My Adorable Sunday School Children).

In the past few weeks we've been learning about Amy Carmichael.

As a little girl growing up in Ireland, she loved the color blue and wished she had blue eyes like her mum and siblings.

Kneeling beside her bed, she prayed to God to change her eyes from brown to blue just like her mum's. She woke up excited, as she rushed to the mirror. Her excitement was short lived when she saw the same brown eyes, Oww Nooooo.

Fast forward she grew up and responded to God's call on her life to be a missionary in India. There she understood why God gave her brown eyes just like the people in India.

This experience taught Amy some important lessons that guided her through her missionary journey.

1. God always answers prayer. His answer could be Yes, No or Wait.

2.God has a plan and a purpose for everyone. God definitely had a plan and a purpose for creating Amy with brown eyes.

3.Never think you're too young to pray or talk to God. Amy was only 3years old when she knelt down and prayed to God to change her eyes from blue to brown.

4.Teach your children how to pray, and talk to God.

Jeremiah 29:11

I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

Amen.
