The Commissioner for Sports has urged members of the Almagated APC Support Groups in Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter to channel their energies to positive ways of promoting the party’s image among Cross Riverians, she disclosed this in a courtesy visit by leaders of the group at her office in Calabar.

Atsu appealed for the group's prayer, cooperation and support for Governor Bassey Otu and his wife to lead the People-First mandate for the growth and development of the state.

Madam Atsu said the Amalgamated APC Support Group, (AASG) stakeholders of the party have always lived up to expectations in terms of delivering the party’s mandate when called upon. Being one of the group's founding members, the commissioner said she recognized the group's loyalty and support to her over the years.

Reacting to the visit also, the Director of Sports, Mr. Moses Ita who described Hon. Agnes Atsu as a godsend said Governor Otu's Era of Sweetness had come to stay, hence his recognition of the positive role women right from history, while making reference to women in the Holy Scriptures.

He said the ministry is pleased with the appointment of Agnes Atsu as its commissioner.

The State Cordinator, Amalgamated APC Support Groups in Nigeria, Dr. Edem Ebong, and the State Vice Chairman, Elder Victor Antigha said the purpose of their visit to one of their own, was to congratulate the commissioner who served as a pillars to the group in time past.

They described Sports as an essential part of the growth and development of a person, physically, mentally amongst others.

They also pledged the group’s unflinching loyalty to the commissioner while praying God continue to give Madam Agnes Atsu the engagement to do more for sports.
