The Commissioner of Sports Development, Hon. Agnes Atsu, has assumed duty as the 1st Female Commissioner of Sports for the State Sports Commission in Calabar.

Hon. Agnes Atsu who expressed gratitude to God for making the day a success promised to help the ministry achieve its potential via engagement in active sports.

She appealed for unity and togetherness to help foster growth and development and move the ministry forward, while stressing that her administration will operate an open door polices to nurture creative ideas.

In an exhortation, the Pastor of the Calabar Branch of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Samuel Adoakpa, charged the commissioner to make impact, better legacies and sincerity her watchwords for God's glory, wisdom and knowledge to embody and help her represent and discharge her responsibilities successfully and make the citizenry proud.

Pastor Adoakpa who futher stressed that Government is serious business added that it was necessary to involve God in every aspect of governance.

Some of the staff described the Commissioner for Sports Development as a compassionate and great woman of faith who was known to integrate her beliefs into her political leadership, stressing that her achievements is an important way to recognize her hard work, dedication, and success for the betterment of the state.

They pledged their unwavering support and cooperation to the commissioner.

The gathering featured prayers for the commissioner amongst other.
