Elon Musk is a household name today, known for his innovative ideas and futuristic ventures. But not many know the story of how he became the successful entrepreneur he is today. Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1971. From a young age, he showed an interest in technology and entrepreneurship. At the age of 12, he sold his first computer game, and by the age of 17, he had already started his first company, Zip2, which provided business directories and maps for newspapers.

In 1999, Musk founded X.com, an online payment company that later became PayPal. In just four years, PayPal became one of the most successful online payment companies in the world, and in 2002, eBay acquired PayPal for $1.5 billion.

After the sale of PayPal, Musk turned his attention to space exploration. In 2002, he founded SpaceX, with the goal of making space travel accessible to the masses. SpaceX has since launched numerous successful missions and has even sent astronauts to the International Space Station.
