Is it possible to be confident without being proud and self-centered? With faith, it is! Being secure with oneself should be achieved out of our desire for salvation. These ten habits will help you increase your self-confidence while remaining humble. 

Don’t Judge Other People

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.” – Matthew 7:18-20

Judgmental people judge not only other people but also themselves. Criticizing fellow human beings makes them feel better about themselves, even if they know the consequences of God. 

If you constantly judge other people, you won’t honestly know how to be confident. Be a good tree that produces good fruit!

Always Thank God

Thankfulness keeps you humble while acknowledging the blessings and characteristics you possess. Every minute should be dedicated to thanking God for being the person that you are.

Don’t forget to thank Him when you awaken, leave for work, have dinner, and go to bed. Learn how to keep praying to stay closer to God and improve your life. 

Know Who God Is

Knowing God and His unending love will help you strengthen your spiritual life and be more self-confident. Start learning about His stories and characteristics to practice being intentional about your actions. In return, He’ll give you the best promise of a fulfilled and satisfying life. 

Speak With Conviction

“The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.” – Romans 14:22

Learning God’s truth should empower you to speak with conviction. Not only will it make you more intelligent. But it will also allow fellow Christians to trust and listen to you. 

When you know you’re speaking only kind words, you won’t have trouble using eye contact and making your voice clear. 

Always Confess Your Sins

Confessing your sins regularly is a reminder of who we are: humans. This procedure does not have to be embarrassing, especially when we remember the cross that saved us from sins. No matter our achievements, we will always commit mistakes. And there is a God waiting to redeem us.

Know That You Have a Purpose

You were not offered opportunities to be righteous or praised. Along with your blessings come responsibilities and a life purpose. So instead of basing our identity on worldly things, let’s take our identity in Christ. 

Living according to God’s commandments allows us to achieve goals beyond value. We become one with Jesus in becoming a light to others and saving the world. 

Understand That You Don’t Always Have Answers

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – 1 Joshua 1:9

You don’t have to be the smartest in the room to make yourself confident. Do not be afraid to seek God’s help in times of uncertainty. You can also ask fellow more knowledgeable Christians for suggestions or help about your faith and life in general. 

Listen to Others

Confident people remain humble when they listen to other people. It’s also an essential communication and leadership skill because it means you value other people. Start being an active listener, and wait for your turn to speak. 

Accept Humiliations

If you ever feel ashamed about something, remember that Jesus was humiliated yet is still a king. This is not to say that you should tolerate any mistreatment. But be ready to accept situations where you’re wrong, inferior, or uncomfortable. 

Know That the Lord is There for You

“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” – Psalm 138:8 

God did not save us only to make us suffer and be egoistic again. He sent us on Earth to fulfill a new mission. But He also sent the Holy Spirit to guide us and assure us that we will not be tempted.
