Review: The 2019 volume will not disappoint. The 224-pages on quality paper continues the tradition of earlier annual volumes that includes excellent photos, ships drawings, bibliographic sources supporting articles, and concluding with Waship Notes section that are intriguing short articles and Q&A's; a Naval Books of the Year title reviews; and, concluding Warship Gallery (beginning p.217) that are editor's choice warships images focused on the Polish navy of 1939.

The volume seems to have a focus on older ship designs and design histories. This includes some engineering histories, and a fine article on the French 340-mm Coast Defence Batter at Cape Cepet, near the Toulon naval base entrance.

Review: Ok edition this time. I thought the most interesting articles were:

* "The French Battleship Brennus:"
* "The Genesis of the Six -Six Fleet;"
* "The 340 mm Coast Defence Battery at Cape Cepet;"
* "Powder Magazine Explosions on Japanese Warships;"
* "Beyond the Kaiser: The IGN's Destroyers and Torpedo Boats after 1918."

There is a incredibly detailed article on "Battlecruiser Tiger: The Arrangement of the Main Engines." I suppose if you really groove on marine engineering, you will love this article. I tend to think it is an example of a book that must have desperately needed something to fill in the pages.
