Review: I think this is the 4th newly released book and the depth and detail are phenomenal. I have loved everything that Nap Hill writes but these books take the philosophy to another much deeper level. I highly suggest it this book (and the series) to any intermediate or advanced student of self-development.

Review: "Nothing constructive and worthy of man’s efforts ever has been or ever will be achieved, except that which comes from a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) based on Definiteness of Purpose, activated by a Burning Desire, and intensified until the burning desire is ELEVATED to the plane of Applied Faith."NapHill makes distinctions between WISHING & BELIEVING, and what it takes to make the journey to the elevated plane of (true) Belief, viz. Applied FaithHe says, "The majority of people never discover the difference between WISHING & BELIEVING; nor do they recognize that there are six steps which people usually follow in using their mind-power for the attainment of their Desires.1st, WISHING & IDLE CURIOSITY … The vast majority of people go through life by merely WISHing, & mistakenly believing that Idle Curiosity is sufficient - Alas!, this is almost 70% of the population2nd, WISHES LEAD TO DESIRE … a much smaller % of people develop their WISHes into DESIREs by directing their Idle Curiosity into Focussed Attention towards a Definite Objective - about 10%3rd, DESIRE IS FANNED INTO HOPE … a still smaller % of people (about 8%) DEVELOP their Wishes and Desires into HOPES.A step above wishes is hope, when your wishes take on a more concrete form. They become hopes of achievement, hopes of attainment, hopes of accomplishment, and hopes of accumulation of things that you want. However, a hope by itself is not very effective. We all have a flock of hopes, but not all of us who have hopes have success. We just hope for success. Hoping is better than wishing. Because the difference between a hope and a wish is that hope is a beginning to take on faith. That’s the idea of hope. You’re transmuting a wish into that very desirable state of mind known as faith.4th, HOPE FUELS BURNING DESIRE … a still smaller percentage of the people step their mind-power up to where it becomes Belief & Burning Desire (estimated at 6%)At some point, you step up your mental attitude to where your hopes are transmuted into something else, known as a burning desire. There’s a difference between a burning desire and an ordinary desire. A burning desire is an intensified desire based upon hope, and based upon definiteness of purpose. In this way, aburning desire is actually an obsessional desire, fueled by a motive. You cannot have a burning desire without a motive or motives back of it, and the more motives you can have for a definite thing, the quicker you will have turned your emotions into what is known as a burning desire. However, that’s not enough. There’s something else. There’s another state of mind you must have before you can be sure of success.5th, BURNING DESIRE CRYSTALLISED INTO FAITH … and yet a very much smaller percentage (4%) of the people crystallize wishes, desires and hopes into belief, and then into burning desire, and finally faith. This percentages is estimated atIf you have transmuted wishes, idle curiosity, hopes, and even a burning desire, you have stepped all those up into something still higher, and that is applied faith.So, what is the difference between applied faith and ordinary belief in things?6th, ACTION! … and last, a very small percentage of people (just 2%) take the last two steps, putting their faith into action by(1) Planning and(2) Acting to carry out their plans, ready or not!The word, ‘applied’ might well be synonymous to action. You might say ‘active faith’Applied faith and active faith are the same: faith backed by action, something that you do about it.A prayer brings positive results only when it is expressed in a positive mental attitude.The most effective prayers are those expressed by individuals who have conditioned their minds to habitually think in terms of a positive mental attitude.Do you have any idea of the amount of time you devote each day in thinking of the negative side of things in comparison with the positive side? Wouldn’t it be interesting if you kept a tabulation for two or three days of the exact amount of time you put into thinking about the no-can-do side of life and the can-do side, or the positive side and the negative side? Even the most successful people would be astounded to find out how many hours they spend each day in negative thinking.The very outstanding successes in the world are the ones that put in very little time, if any, thinking on the negative side. The great leaders put in all their time thinking on the positive side.Outstanding leaders in every walk of life are the ones in the sixth group.They recognize the power of their own minds, take possession of that power and direct it to whatever ends they choose.To such people, the word impossible has no meaning! Review: Thinly veiled notions of intelligent design with poorly reasoned justifications for acceptance of God. I am struggling to separate the useful information from the chaff of belief. Carnegie's explanation of his success rely profoundly on assumptions and explanations that are not compellingly borne out by history and reasoning.Carnegie's reasonings are dated and his conclusions suspect, but I will still try to extract the useful information from his discussions with Napoleon Hill.

Review: I purchased the audio book, The content is exceptional. But the narration could be improved. The man speaking Napoleon Hills words is older , than the man speaking Andrew Carnegie's words. They should have hired Dude Walker again. He played Carnegie in "The Wisdom Of Success" Of course Earl Nightingale would have been the best.

Review: Napoleon Hill's books are incredibly valuable today, even though written years ago. This book is a collection of his nearly impossible to find 1941 Mental Dynamite booklets, and impressed me because it lays out how you have to take action to succeed; you cannot just dream about success. One cannot just Think and Grow Rich, the name of Hill's most famous book. One has to act. The title of this book says it all.
