During the peak trekking season, the Everest Base Camp route sees hundreds of trekkers daily. However, if you prefer a quieter environment, the Gokyo Lakes Trek might be the better choice. This trek takes you through the Gokyo Valley, where you can enjoy pristine lakes and reach the Gokyo Ri hill station, which offers stunning views of the Everest Himalayas, tranquil lakes, and the impressive Ngozumpa Glacier.
If you have more time, are an experienced hiker, and have already been to high elevations, I recommend considering the Everest Three High Passes trek or the Cho La Pass trek. These treks allow you to explore the beauty of the Khumbu Everest Region and can be completed in 15 days for the Cho La Pass trip or 18 days for the High Passes trek, starting and ending in Kathmandu.

For those who are unable to trek at high altitudes or have limited time, the Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour offers an adventurous alternative. This tour allows you to reach the foot of the world's highest mountain and Base Camp, as well as the nearest viewpoint of Everest, Kala Patthar, within a couple of hours directly from Kathmandu. It's a great option for those who want to experience the Everest Himalayas but are unable to commit to a full trekking expedition.
