HON. EMMANUEL IRONBAR ATTENDS CALABAR SOUTH STAKEHOLDERS MEETING; CALLS FOR A FORMIDABLE FRONT

I'm so happy to be with you this evening during this very season of sweetness.
First and foremost let me apologize to you for coming late, I was attending to other government activities that needed urgent attention.
It gives me great joy when we gather like this as a people, it gives me joy knowing calabar South is leading while other local governments are following.
Most importantly when I hear people pour encomium and accolades on our Governor, I feel Happy because while the process was on, promises were made and gradually it was fulfilled.
Like you all know our Father, Our Governor is a promise keeper and as I have always pinpointed that when he was a Senator, we were the highest beneficiaries and was always confident that if he was elected Governor, he would do more in terms of appointment and empowerment.
I Stand here today as one of you and one with great love for everyone in Calabar South, I know we are in difficult times, the Governor is trying his best and I will also try my best.
We are happy for the party replacement that brought in Pastor Patrick Asikpo - Okon as state Secretary and as you can see, the Governor is one who listens to advice and has his ears to the ground. If you look at the appointment you'll agree with me that he is putting square pegs in square holes in a bid to ensure quality performance and delivery
The Governor is not a sentimental or tribal person but one that is led by the Holy Spirit and he will do just and right to his people. Thus far from my observation, everyone is happy and have accepted the replacements at the ward and chapter level
You will agree with me that in time past, revenue points were shared amongst Commissioners, House of Assembly members and other big names but the time has come for us to change the narrative, because there is no reason why you should have an appointment and still hold a revenue point while others stay empty.
I want to sincerely thank our Commissioners in Calabar South for their support to make that possible. Those who are in charge of revenue points should make sure they remit an appropriate percentage so that those who are not on the list of revenue holders can also benefit and by so doing, it will give them a sense of belonging, because they were also involved in the campaign and elections. Any one who goes contrary will be stripped of their revenue points.
Imagine a situation where those who control revenue points return nothing to the council, I implore them to desist from such an attitude as we wouldn't hesitate in welding the big hammer. We want our records to be kept clean, we want to be seen as disciplined and law abiding citizens. Take note of that.
We all know the Late Chief Eteyen Umanah as a father, it's unfortunate that we've lost him, but I thank God that he has fulfilled the right age as stated by the Bible, 70 and above.
Eteyen was a father who never looked down on anyone, a jolly good fellow, it is our position to let the world know that he was our member, apart from his immediate family, I think Calabar South is also his family. I urge us to do all we can to give him a befitting burial. I know that it is difficult but let us understand that there is nothing we cannot achieve if we come together.
I was broken when the news got to me because we had spoken three (3) days before his demise.
May his soul rest in peace.
Our Governor has performed exceedingly well in just 9 months, he is doing very well with the lean resources from the federal government and has been able to give a facelift to the state, many people are talking and writing about Cross River State, to God be the Glory, by the time we are 2 years in office, i know Cross River State would be getting better and better.
Hon. Bassey Mensah Commissioner for Water Resources is making us proud, just within few months he has been able to give us water, though it seemed impossible but because of God's presence in Cross River State, it became possible, the water hasn't gone around owing the abandonment, vandalization of pipes and machines, but thank God he has been able to prove a point and our working Governor will not hesitate to encourage him by making approvals so we can have water.
The government has also put in place measures to make sure that water continues running even after this government.
This brings me to a very important point, there have been series of Solem Assembly since our government came into power and it has helped to stabilize the state, because the state was in bondage but with the continuous prayers we have started making progress.
Many of us are praying for an appointment, empowerment and employment but let's understand that power comes from God and He uses man as an instrument to meet you at your point of need.
I would like the Chapter Chairman Pastor Otu Marshall to work with a group called the followers of Christ and come up with a plan for a Solemn Assembly in Calabar South local government area.
If our Governor and our Mother, Her Excellency Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Otu didn't come up with the Solemn Assembly, our state would have still been moving at a snail speed.
The bad blood is speaking negative of us but it's only the blood of Jesus that speaks good for us, so let us recommit Calabar South to God entirely.
God is superintending over the affairs of Cross River State, that is why you see opposition defecting to our party, Now people can now sleep with their eyes closed and not afraid of thieves, a state that was once abandoned is finally taking its pride of place.
Sometimes we have to take the bull by the horn, the responsibility we will take this time will not be for ourselves alone but for our children and generations unborn. The moment we can stamp our feet on the ground and stamp out evil, it will run and never come back.
Personally I am happy that all the appointments that have been done, so far, Calabar South is one to reckon with.
The Chapter chairman should call all appointees to make monthly donations so the party can reach out to others who haven't benefitted in any way.
I bring you Easter blessings from Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu, he extends his heartfelt love and says he still remains a member of Calabar South.
In this season of sweetness, especially during this Easter, we need to use this season to reconcile ourselves with God, we need to understand that Christ came to die for us and shared his blood to save mankind.. Who knows what would have become of us.
My brothers and sisters, you may have called most times and I have not had the time to take calls, it is purely due to my work schedules, Please forgive me..
Please let's us use this period of Christ death and resurrection to reconcile all differences.
During the Stakeholders meeting at CICC, the Governor told everyone with court cases to withdraw those cases and come back to him and people are still in court, it shows disloyalty and it is not right. The Governor is the chief security officer of the state as ordained by God, God speaks through him, he is not just a mere person but a Pastor and a servant of God.
If you have witnessed him in his Church at Abuja working for God and showing humility then you should respect him, I envy him a lot and I pray, trusting God to be like my boss with such a great grace.
