In the shadows, where dreams are faint,
Lies poverty, a silent plaint.
Its grasp, a vice, upon the land,
Where hope slips through like grains of sand.
In alleyways, where children play,
Hunger's cry echoes through the day.
With empty bellies, eyes that weep,
Their innocence in shadows sleep.
Through barren fields and broken streets,
Where despair and sorrow meet,
Families cling to fleeting light,
In the endless struggle, day and night.
Yet amidst the gloom, a spark ignites,
Resilience blooms in darkest nights.
For in the hearts of those who strive,
Hope endures, though struggles thrive.
So let us reach with hands to aid,
And lift each other, unafraid.
For in unity, we find the key,
To unlock a world where all are free.
