On March 20, 2024 Bishop Samson Shukardin presided over the Chrism Mass in St, Francis Xavier Cathedral, Hyderabad. It came at the end of the two-day diocesan meeting when the sisters, brothers and priests working in the diocese gathered for an on-going formation session on ‘Holy week in the Scriptures and theology of the Resurrection’.
In Hyderabad diocese, the Chrism Mass is held early, because of the big distances to be travelled to reach Hyderabad, it is not possible to hold it on Hoy Thursday, the traditional day for it. The oils of Chrism, Catechumenate and the Sick were blessed and distributed to all the parishes.
A big number of the faithful attended the Mass.
