Dear Cross Riverians,

I am writing this letter to provide a reference on His Excellency, Mr Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, in relation to his prompt unveiling of the carnival theme during his tenure. After closely observing Past Governors..

During his tenure as governor, Mr Donald Duke consistently demonstrated a proactive approach towards planning and organizing the annual Calabar Carnival, including the unveiling of the carnival theme. He understood the significance of this event for the state's tourism industry, and the early announcement of the theme allowed ample time for the necessary preparations to be made by different Bands and stakeholders associated with the carnival.

Comparatively, His successors, unfortunately, failed to maintain this efficiency and timeliness established by thier predecessor, Mr Donald Duke, The unveiling of the carnival theme in the Last 12 yrs was significantly delayed, resulting in a multitude of difficulties for various Bands and stakeholders involved in planning the carnival. This delay caused unnecessary inconveniences and compromised the overall success and smooth execution of the event.

In contrast, under Mr Donald Duke leadership, the prompt unveiling of the carnival theme allowed for seamless coordination between different Bands, groups, artists, performers, and other organizations involved in the carnival.

Furthermore, the early announcement attracted national and international attention, resulting in higher participation, both from within the state and outside.

Overall, it is crystal clear that His Excellency, Ntufam Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has brought back those memories. Mr Donald Duke was an exemplary governor who consistently prioritized the successful organization of the Calabar carnival. Not only did he understand the importance of unveiling the carnival theme in a timely manner, but he also ensured that the necessary resources and support were provided to all stakeholders involved.
