Learning Differences

Introduction:

In a diverse world, it's crucial to recognize that individuals have unique learning styles and preferences. Learning differences, often referred to as learning disabilities or learning challenges, affect how people process information, acquire knowledge, and demonstrate their understanding. Instead of viewing these differences as obstacles, we should strive to embrace them and create inclusive learning environments. This blog post explores the importance of understanding learning differences and provides practical strategies for supporting individuals with diverse learning needs.

Learning differences in Pakistan:

Learning differences exist worldwide, and Pakistan is no exception. However, in the context of Pakistan, there are unique challenges and opportunities when it comes to supporting individuals with learning differences.

Pakistani education system faces many challenges throughout the years. The very main problem was lack of counseling in education systems.

My Story:

So, let me share my story and some of the people i know. When was in grade 6, i got admission in new school.

The criteria of the school was to take tests every month like T1, T2 etc.

Initially, my results were good like 70-75% but slowly my percentage was getting down. The teacher was so harsh that she didn't even bother to ask me if i have any problem due to which i am not performing well. Instead she would call my brother and start complaining about everything i-e results, nail paint or any hairstyle and so on. This was the story or a lot of students.

My sister was also the student of that same teacher. once my maternal grandfather and my paternal grandmother died a few days apart. That same teacher was the in-charge of the class. After few days, when she went to the school the teacher start insulting in-front of the whole class. In-fact she knows the reason.

In our education system, there is no concept of counselors. Students also need counseling for their mental well-being.

Also, teachers have to change their behavior approach towards their students. As if a student is not doing well in terms of studies, then the teacher should ask that student about the problem. And try a different method with weak students. For example if a student is not able to memorize a whole page of the book, so teacher should breakdown the page into some parts so that it will get easy for him\her to memorize.

Conclusion:

In our education system, there is a definite need of counselor for students as well as for teacher. At this time, our generations are suffering due to lack of mental health awareness. Which in result affects on their education and daily life. And also teachers have to understand their students. The educational needs of the students need to be fulfilled.
