Unleashing the Perak: The Thrill of Bringing Home India’s First Factory Custom Bobber

For me, the plans of bringing home the Jawa Perak, India’s first-ever factory custom bobber to be made here in India, were on ever since Classic Legends showcased it in 2018. I bought the Perak soon after it hit the showroom floors, and so far, the ownership experience of this unique-looking single-seater bobber has been remarkable.

A Real Head-Turner Wherever It Goes

Very few motorcycles can be a show-stealer as good as a single-seater bobber, and the Jawa Perak aces that formula pretty well. The authentic retro styling, which Jawa Motorcycles is known for, matches the traditional elements of a bobber, like single-seater configuration and lowered stance, in the Perak. For me, the Perak has a distinctive charm and aura no other motorcycle in its price range possesses. Moreover, the Jawa Perak Matte Black looks like a dream.

Adding a heritage look to the Jawa Perak are the round-themed headlamps, tail lamps, turn indicators and fuel tank, looking much inspired by the Jawa 250 from the bygone era. However, what makes the Perak look exclusive is its single-seater configuration, along with the tail lamp uniquely placed below the seat. Currently, no other motorcycle uses this formula. The fine attention-to-detailing and all-black theme of the Perak also catch everybody’s attention, which some of the much more expensive motorcycles also cannot pull.

A Reliable Champion

For people who consider bobbers as lesser relevant and practical in everyday usage, the Jawa Perak can be a surprise element. I have been riding this motorcycle daily like an average commuter for intra-city rides. I would say that the Perak never felt difficult or impractical to ride.

If you ride solo most of the time like me, the Perak is good enough to make you forget the significance of a pillion seat. The large and well-cushioned seat is comfortable enough to make all types of short and long rides comfortable, provided you have set your riding priorities as going solo all the time.

An Engine Which Punches Above Its Weight

I have always praised the performance offered by the single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 334cc engine of the Jawa Perak. The power output of 22.54 kW and torque output of 32.74 Nm are currently segment-leading among all the retro-themed motorcycles in the sub-500cc category.

The class-leading power and torque figures of the Jawa Perak are not just impressive on paper, but they are very much proven the moment you roll its throttle and ride on the open roads. The pulling power of the Jawa Perak, especially in the midrange, has been an addictive experience for me.

There are very few motorcycles in the sub-500cc category which have managed to impress me as significantly as the Jawa Perak. As a solo rider, the Perak has been fulfilling all my commuting needs and the occasional long highway rides. And I must agree that the authentic bobber styling of the Perak has given me a new sense of confidence in carrying my style statement
