What the "heck" is happening to earth

Recent events at the Miami mall have sparked a viral debate over what exactly occurred. A video of a massive police presence at the Bayside Marketplace outdoor mall in Miami went viral, with some viewers claiming to have captured footage of a 10-foot-tall gray alien walking among the police cars. The footage quickly led to speculation and conspiracy theories about extraterrestrial activity. However, the Miami Police Department (MPD) released a statement to address the viral video, denying any ex

Science (volume 1) CONCEPT OF THE EARTH'S ROTATION.

The concept of the Earth's rotation refers to the spinning motion of our planet on its axis, an imaginary line that runs through the North and South Poles. The Earth completes one full rotation in approximately 24 hours, resulting in the cycle of day and night that we experience. The significance of Earth's rotation is profound and has various implications: 1. Day and Night Cycle: Earth's rotation is responsible for the alternating periods of daylight and darkness. As the Earth rotates, differen

The most weirdest place on earth 🌎

The weirdest places in the world Photograph: Shutterstock.com 1. Jervis Bay, Australia Australia ’s Jervis Bay is actually home to the whitest sandy beach on the planet, but visitors don’t flock here for whiter-than-white sand. Okay, some do, but most head to this 102-square-kilometre oceanic bay for the magic that comes after dark. Jervis Bay is one of the few places on the planet where people can see the wonder of bioluminescence, as masses of plankton glow in the dark and give the water a gor

NASA, USGS Map Minerals to Understand Earth Makeup, Climate Change

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) will map portions of the southwest United States for critical minerals using advanced airborne imaging. Hyperspectral data from hundreds of wavelengths of reflected light can provide new information about Earth's surface and atmosphere to help scientists understand Earth's geology and biology, as well as the effects of climate change. The research project, called the Geological Earth Mapping Experiment (GEMx), will use NASA's Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) and Hyperspectral Thermal Emission Spectrometer (HyTES) instruments flown on NASA's ER-2 and Gulfstream V aircraft to collect the measurements over the country's arid and semi-arid regions, including parts of California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. "This exciting new project is just one example of the Biden-Harris Administration's commitment to a clean energy future," said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. "NASA

New method to synchronize devices on Earth makes use of cosmic rays

Various technologies, networks and institutions benefit from or require accurate time keeping to synchronize their activities. Current ways of synchronizing time have some drawbacks that a new proposed method seeks to address. The cosmic time synchronizer works by synchronizing devices around cosmic ray events detected by those devices. This could bring accurate timing abilities to remote sensing stations, or even underwater, places that other methods cannot serve. Early tests show promise, but the real challenge may lie in the adoption of this new technique.

Global warming a threat to earth

Global warming, also known as climate change, is a rapidly growing problem that poses a significant threat to our planet. The Earth's average surface temperature has been steadily increasing over the past century, primarily due to human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. One of the most notable effects of global warming is the rising sea levels. As the Earth's temperature increases, so does the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. This water vapor then falls as

Turkey earthquakes: Collapsed buildings investigation widens

More than 600 people are now being investigated in Turkey over buildings that collapsed in the deadly earthquake on 6 February, the government has said. On Saturday, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said 184 suspects - including construction contractors and property owners - had already been arrested. For years, experts warned that endemic corruption and government policies meant many new buildings were unsafe. The confirmed death toll in Turkey and Syria has now exceeded 50,000.
