Two criminals named Jamie and Matthias who are involved in a garage robbery attempt go wrong, Jamie suddenly tries to rob the garage and the owner fights back. Jamie then shoots the hostage and then Matthias is shot in the leg. They then escape but Matthias needs medical attention. A disgraced doctor (Chad Michael Murray) is taken hostage along with his family after the two criminals break into the house and demand that he remove the bullet from one of the criminal's legs.

But the doctor's father named Frank (Bruce Willis) finds his wife has been murdered.

Rich aged to remove the bullet, but Frank saw an opportunity and immediately took a scalpel to cut Jamie, Jamie took a large kitchen knife and also stabbed Frank, who fled at night. Rich then threatens to cut Matthias's artery with a scalpel, Jamie shoots him in the shoulder. Matthias is completely paralyzed because Rich has not closed the wound, and also only dammed the blood flow using surgical clamps.
