Daystar University Hosts Inspiring Chapel Service, Highlighting Commitment to Faith and Community

Daystar University, a renowned institution fostering both academic excellence and spiritual development, held a special chapel service on February 27th, bringing together a diverse community of students, staff, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro.

The service, centered around the theme of the feeding of the 5000, commenced with an uplifting worship session featuring a dynamic dance team, setting a unique and energetic tone for the gathering. Drawing inspiration from John 1:16-17, the Chaplain delivered a powerful message on God's abundant grace, resonating with the diverse faith backgrounds present.

Prof. Ayiro, addressing the congregation, emphasized Daystar's unwavering commitment to excellence and discipline. He acknowledged recent concerns and announced initiatives to enhance student well-being and academic achievement.

Recognizing the impact of a tragic student incident on campus safety, he revealed plans to construct secure 3-bedroom staff residences in Athi River. Additionally, he unveiled plans to upgrade university buses, improving student transportation, and announced the construction of a 1000-seater hall for the School of Law, signifying the university's commitment to infrastructural development.

Celebrating the success of the Nursing Department, Prof. Ayiro commended their exceptional standards recognized by recent visitors from the US. He further emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of academic excellence, drawing inspiration from scripture (Acts 15:11 and Ephesians 2:5).

The service culminated in a heartfelt rendition of "Kijito Cha Utakaso," fostering a contemplative atmosphere. Prof. Ayiro then expressed well wishes for the ongoing recovery of Prof. Munene, hospitalized at the time, and organized a team visit to offer support. The gathering concluded with a communal prayer, uniting the Daystar University community in faith and solidarity.
