*Aspiring Entrepreneurs Take Center Stage at Daystar University's Freedom Corner*

Daystar University's Valley Road campus is buzzing with entrepreneurial spirit this week as students showcase their innovative business ideas at the annual Freedom Corner event. From Wednesday to Friday, the campus transforms into a vibrant hub for aspiring business owners, with Ruth Mukala, a 24-year-old economics graduate, being one of the many participants.

Mukala is showcasing her online jewelry and cosmetics business, Rufay Jewels. Launched in August 2021, Rufay Jewels operates primarily through online platforms like Instagram. However, Mukala's vision extends beyond the digital realm, as she aspires to establish a physical storefront in the future. Her participation in the Entrepreneurship Week reflects her dedication and commitment to growing her business.

While the online platform has provided a valuable starting point, Mukala acknowledges the challenges faced by many new businesses, including the lack of a physical shop and limited access to funding. However, she remains optimistic, viewing the Entrepreneurship Week as an opportunity to connect with potential investors, mentors, and collaborators who can support her in overcoming these hurdles.

Mukala is not alone in her entrepreneurial journey. She is currently working alongside Faith Alfred, demonstrating the spirit of collaboration and support fostered by the Entrepreneurship Week. Their combined efforts showcase the power of teamwork in bringing business ideas to life.

When asked for advice for other aspiring entrepreneurs, Mukala emphasizes the importance of taking action, even with limited resources. "Don't wait to start," she encourages, "because in the mind of an entrepreneur, the bigger picture is what drives them."

The Freedom Corner event transcends the mere showcasing of individual businesses. It serves as a crucial platform for fostering innovation, encouraging self-reliance, and equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to Kenya's economic development.

By offering a platform for students like Ruth Mukala, Daystar University demonstrates its unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs who will shape the future of Kenya's business landscape.
