The Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, recently awarded his Chief of Staff, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, for his outstanding support and commitment to football, especially female football, at the maiden edition of the Cross River State 1st Lady’s Football Female competition, also known as the Queen’s Cup Hosted by Her Excellency, Rev. Eyoanwan Prince Otu. The prestigious event took place at the U. J. Esuene Sports Stadium in Calabar, where the final match between Pelican Stars FC and Imo Strikers Angels was held.

Hon. Ironbar's dedication to the development of female football was recognized and celebrated during this ceremony, and he expressed his excitement and gratitude for the honor bestowed upon him. The award ceremony also acknowledged the contributions of other distinguished individuals, including the Deputy Governor, Former Sole Administrator, Former Minister, State APC Chairman, Commissioner of Sports Development, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, The Vice Chancellor, University of Calabar, SSG, and other notable figures who have played vital roles in advancing the sport of football in the state .

The Queen’s Cup not only showcased the talent and passion of female football players but also served as a platform to promote gender equality and empower women in sports. The event brought together football enthusiasts, officials, and supporters to witness the thrilling final match between Pelican Stars FC and Imo Strikers Angels. highlighting the growth and importance of women's football in Cross River State.
