Indian Streets

As one takes a walk through the streets of any Indian city, be it Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, the trappings of colonial rule are quite conspicuous.

The people out at the street are often stereotyped as being shabby, unhygienic, poor, pathetic, illiterate and uncivilized in no unequal terms.  They are called the unorganized sector or the “India Uninc”. The so called dazzy, elite, corporate, organized, literate “India Inc” cannot be what it is without the India Uninc. Be it from the delivery of milk to newspapers to vegetables to groceries to roadside eateries to maids to drivers to laundry, a day for the corporates’ can never be complete without the Streetman. The streets of India are bustling with activities day and night, contributing to the growth story of India.
