Nyesom Wike, the current governor of Rivers State, has at last spoken on the mention of Atiku Abubakar during a PDP governorship campaign rally in Oyo State a few days ago.
It may be noted that on Thursday in Ibadan, while Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike was addressing the crowd, some people were chanting the name of Atiku during Seyi Makinde's reelection campaign event.
It should also be remembered that the G-5 governors swore never to support Atiku Abubakar's bid for office if the Peoples Democratic Party national leader did not step down.
Wike claimed to be unconcerned in an interview with BBC Pidgin. He said Atiku Abubakar shouldn't be fooled by what happened in Oyo.
Hear him "Because someone shouted "Atiku!" in Oyo State. They'll claim that Atiku wasn't shouted. These are the methods used to trick people "Well, I suppose...
Wike continued, "Atiku is not playing politics right because politics requires that everyone be carried along."
"In politics, you must involve everyone; else, your chances will suffer. You must exercise extreme caution when getting involved in local politics. He doesn't comprehend, though. He is unaware of its significance. He would claim that regardless of Wike's feelings, he would prevail."
