I never planned for this occasion
My mind is slowly taking flight
And I'm reminded of all my yesterdays
Where I felt comfortable drowning
Danced with my demons
Rejoiced in the wrong directions
Didn't validate my bad choices
Didn't apologize to people I wronged
And didn't replace all the hearts I broke.
Now,
My rebounds are no longer bouncing back
My curtain is slowly closing on me
I force breathing in this instance,
Shouting a curse at my past
So when the regrets floods my mind
And my heart can't take it anymore,
I'll tie the knot, kick the chair and free myself.
