Know yourself first.
You must first have a solid awareness of your own feelings, motives, and biases. These interact with one another to affect how you perceive the world and the people in it.
After removing your prejudice from the issue, you will be able to judge your partner's conduct and sentiments more accurately if you have a greater understanding of yourself. Additionally, you'll be better able to understand your partner because you'll be able to draw comparisons between their actions and your own.
Find out how they communicate.
Based on their culture, personalities, and experiences, each person has a unique communication style. Some people use direct communication to express their feelings in words, while others use indirect communication.
Some people find it awkward to talk about themselves, therefore they may express their feelings through movements or gestures. To increase understanding between you and your spouse, pay attention to the special blend of communication techniques that your partner employs.
