After a close examination,
I begin to wonder in awe and amazement

That such an inhumane practice exists.

Where the female gender becomes a mere infinitesimal object

An object of no value

An object of invisibility

A belief

That female education is scam

And a waste of resources

Education is meant for the male

While the female spends the rest of her life in the kitchen

Becoming an ignorant being

A culture

That illtreats women like non-humans

Where widowhood becomes a grievous offense

The innocent woman

Has all her hair shaven

And drinks the water used to bathe the corpse

She stays indoors for months

Without having a bath

Neither is she allowed to take good care of herself

Wrongfully accused

Of being the one responsible

For the death of her husband

Later on,

She is inherited like a mere property

To join the harem of wives

Of her husband’s brother

What sort of custom Is this?

Where a woman becomes a punching bag

For her husband

And is treated and beaten at will

Like a slave

Even in the presence of her own children     

The female gender

Is not accorded any form of recognition

Position of authority

Is specially reserved

For the men

Without having a test

Of the leadership capability

Of the women

Women are the weaker vessels

Yet behind every successful man is a woman

Women who are said to have weak brains

They are given out to marriage

Without their consent

To be used as a medium of exchange

To solve the financial issues

Of her inconsiderate family members

She forcefully gets married

To a man

Old enough to be her grandfather

At a very tender age

Made to face the new life

That she is not prepared for

With no sense of equity
we become ambassadors of partiality and discrimination

A savage practice

An hazardous custom,

Deadly and barbaric

So savage and cruel it is

That its specialty

Is in marginalisation of women.
