Sunset in the ghetto

We were young, brave and clueless.

Beaten, abused and yet undaunted.

Hanging everywhere but not fitting anywhere.

But still, we remain steadfast. Facing our hustle, or so we used to say.

Chrchrat, slum kids, were but the best of names.

We could only wipe off the tears clogging our eyes.

But that is gone now, we've evolved.

We are now transformed into the top crop of society.

Indeed we struggled, toiled, bled and cried.

Now we can say, we've come a long way from where we began.
