Overview

Mary Smith was born and raised in St. Augustine, Florida. Living in the oldest city in America, rich history runs through her veins. In this city of haunted history, you can't step out of superstition. After a tragic loss, Mary discovers that she is related to one of the many pirates who have wreaked havoc on her home. The pirate in question is Andrew Ranson. He attacked St. Augustine in 1684, and was captured. He was sentenced to execution, but miraculously lived through it. It is said that his descendants still live in St. Augustine today. The year is 1891. Mary has held the family secret up until this point. She has grown up, and finds herself falling behind in marriage and motherhood. She has the option to possibly marry the Sheriff, a very powerful man who is about to open and run a very notorious jail, or possibly not marry at all. With the Sheriff on her tail, Mary is pinned between choosing him, living her own life, or living up to her ancestor's legacy. Either option can cost her her life.
