Sri Lankan cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka captured in Australia on assault charge:
Danushka Gunathilaka has been captured on charges of rape, a report citing group sources said on Sunday.
NDTV sports citing a news report said that the 31-year-old Gunathilaka, who was essential for the continuous T20 World Cup crew, was captured on Sunday and taken to Sydney City police headquarters after charges of rape on a lady on November 2.
"Daushka Gunathilaka has been captured for a supposed assault. The Sri Lankan group has left Australia without him," the news channel cited the report.
Sri Lankan group was wiped out from the competition subsequent to losing to Britain on Sunday.
Gunathilaka was out for a duck in the principal round match of the continuous T20 World Cup against Namibia.
The New South Ridges police, on its site, has likewise referenced about the capture of an anonymous Sri Lankan public.
