Luckily I wasn't completely in the dark, because I could at least see something through my dimmed cell phone light.

Slightly annoyed, I took a deep breath, which I immediately regretted.

I immediately ignored the disgusting stench and now taste in my mouth as best I could.

I tapped my thigh with a light force with the flashlight.

After a few tries it finally worked and the flashlight started working again.

I exhaled in relief and automatically shone a light on the wall across from me.

What I saw made my blood run cold!

Completely shocked, I stare wide-eyed at this wall.

Written in blood was my name: RACHEL!

That blood was fresh and ran down the wall in thick rivulets.

I immediately felt sick.

Completely shocked and stunned, I just couldn't take my eyes off it.

Suddenly there was a loud bang behind me.

I jumped in shock and had to bite back a cry.

I immediately turned around and was shocked to find that it was the room door!

I practically jumped the short distance to them and wanted to open them again immediately.

However, the old wooden door didn't move a millimeter.

I shook it harder and harder, but the rotten wood was too stable for me.

My pathetic attempts were not enough to open this room door.

I was slowly becoming more and more desperate.

I got scared because this situation wasn't normal.

The entire insane asylum was not normal!

I just wanted to get out of this patient room as quickly as possible, out of this damn psychiatric ward and back home.

After a few unsuccessful attempts to force open this shabby door, I gave up and thought about possible remedies.

As I caught movement next to me out of the corner of my eye.

I jerked my eyes straight to the corner of the room where I had seen the figure.

However, there was nothing there.

I exhaled in relief. That shadow was just my imagination, triggered by the fear in me.

I calmed myself by trying to think rationally and logically.

Going nuts and panicking completely wouldn't help me at all.

So I focused on the door again.

Somehow I had to get this open!

Deep in thought, I stared at the wooden door.

Suddenly I felt a warm breeze on my neck, which made the fine hairs on my neck stand up.

Goosebumps covered my entire body and all thoughts about the locked door were gone immediately.

My head was swept blank except for a single thought: someone was right behind me!

I stood there in panic, feeling the warm breath on the bare skin on the back of my neck.

I couldn't move, frozen with fear.

I didn't even dare to breathe out loud.

At this moment, ice-cold hands, which I felt under 2 layers of fabric, stroke my back.

Slowly and almost gently, the stranger's hands slide up to my shoulders.

At that touch, I panicked inside.

When the freezing hands stopped, they gripped my shoulders tightly.

My breath caught and my eyes widened in shock.

I was jerked backwards like a doll.

Away from the saving wooden door and into the endless darkness.

As a shrill, loud scream left my lips.

My last thought was: Ace Black exists!
