The steering Committee - Cross Riverians in the Diaspora Sports and Talents, recently paid a courtesy visit to Senator Odey, the Honorable Commissioner for Education in Cross River State. Led by the chairperson of the committee, Dr. Vivian Otu, and the secretary, Mr. Ettah Emmanuel O., the team discussed various projects and initiatives that CRID had planned for the state.

The chairman of the committee expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Commissioner and detailed the purpose of their visit. The primary focus of the visit was to inform the Commissioner about the proposed projects and activities that CRID had earmarked for the state. The committee outlined two major projects as part of their initiative.

The first project involves organizing an essay competition that will be open to participants from all three senatorial districts of the state. Each zone will conduct local competitions, with the best essays selected to compete in the grand finale, which will be held in Calabar. The second project will be a football talent hunt that will also take place in the three senatorial districts,

culminating in a grand finale in Calabar. The committee emphasized their commitment to promoting talents in both academic and sports fields across the state. In response, the Commissioner expressed his enthusiasm and appreciation for CRID's recognition of the state and their willingness to support local initiatives. He pledged to support and collaborate with the committee to ensure the success of the proposed projects.

The visit showcased the collaborative spirit between CRID and the Cross River State government, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering academic and sports development within the state. This partnership aims to provide opportunities for talented individuals from various backgrounds and locations within the state to showcase their skills and abilities.
