Colonel Bachchu himself arrested a Yaba trader.

Then Colonel Bachchu's second in command, Major Mofiz, said, "Sir, is it necessary to go to the trouble of taking this Yaba trader to our camp and interrogating him? Let's kill this Yaba trader by crossfire."

Hearing this, Major Mofiz said in a tone of mild protest, "Sir, I could not agree with you. I am sorry sir."

Hearing this, Colonel Bachchu shook his head and took a long breath and said, "I am not telling you to agree with me. Rather, I am telling you to obey my orders. This is your job."

Colonel Bachchu now said to Yaba trader, "Please tell them their identity."

Hearing this, the Yaba business man told Colonel Bachcha the names and identities of his associates.

Finally he said, "They gave me Yaba and said, 'You can do Yaba business safely. We will understand all kinds of problems you face while doing Yaba business. There is no one in Cox's Bazar who can tell anything to our Yaba sales representative. Even if the Bangladesh government want to do you something, we have a system to handle it.'"

Colonel Bachchu, Major Mofiz and some colleagues are sitting in civil dress under the transit bridge on the banks of the Naf river in Teknaf.

It was already evening. The night has just begun. Nevertheless, a few are perched under and around the transit bridge for spearfishing. Others have returned home.

Major Mofiz said to Colonel Bachchu, "Sir, why are you hiding like this with us? You can wait directly on the transit bridge."

Colonel Bachchu said, "Those who fish with spears under and around this transit bridge, do not trust them. Because it is a big responsibility to understand who is an agent, who is a gangster and who is a member of drug dealers. So I am waiting for the last spear hunter to leave."

It's been a long night. So the last hunter also left.

After another half hour, one was heard shouting at the other, "Hey, who prevented you from doing Yaba business? Call them and tell them to come in front of us now if they have the courage."

After hearing this, Yaba trader called Colonel Bachchu. Colonel Bachchu got the call and came out from behind with others in civil dress.

Colonel Bachchu then poked the man in the stomach with the barrel of his machine pistol and said, "Then tell your yaba producers in Myanmar to rescue you."

Hearing this, the man told them through satellite phone to the people in Myanmar to rescue them.

It was said from the other end, "We are coming in half an hour."

After half an hour indeed a speedboat entered the Naf River from the south through the Bay of Bengal.

As they approached the transit bridge, they started firing. But hearing the sound of their firing, screams were heard from the BGB camp near the transit. And soon the gunshots were heard. In other words, Yaba terrorists of Myanmar are firing from the BGB camp after hearing the sound of gunfire.

A speedboat started coming from the north side of the transit bridge. That speedboat also belongs to BGB camp. Firing is also being done from that speedboat.

As a result of the firing from both sides, the speedboat turned again and started going in the opposite direction. That is, they started fleeing towards Myanmar. Finally the speedboat went beyond the reach of the BGB. Therefore, BGB did not go to Myanmar's sea border. Because of this, those drug terrorists of Myanmar escaped. But from the speedboat of BGB started to hear catch, catch, catch..... .

Colonel Bachchu told Major Mofiz, "We have done our work. Now the BGB will do the work of them. We will hand over those we have caught to the police in the morning. I said that if you have the ability to catch a cow, you should not catch an elephant. But if you catch an elephant, it will tear the rope and twist it with its trunk.The current situation is the same. We have caught the yaba traders of Bangladesh like cattle. But we cannot catch the drug terrorists of Myanmar. That is, even if we have the ability to catch the criminals of our own country, there is no way to catch the criminals of that country. And Colonel Bachchu said to Yaba Yaba trader boss, "Have you seen how it is when you commit a crime in your own country at the instigation of people from other countries?"

After saying this, Colonel Bachchu said to the others, "Take them all to the camp. Then we will hand them over to the police. Now you go, I will come later."

When the others left, Colonel Bachchu stood alone on the transit bridge. He started to see the activities of BGB.

By then it was dawn. Standing on the transit bridge, Colonel Bachchu heard the sound of azaan from the mosque in Teknaf Bazar.

"ইয়াবা গ্যাংকে অবশেষে ধরা গেল।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু নিজে একজন ইয়াবা কারবারিকে গ্রেফতার করলেন।

তখন কর্নেল বাচ্চুর সেকেন্ড ইন কমান্ড মেজর মফিজ বললেন,"স্যার, এই ইয়াবা কারবারিকে আমাদের ক্যাম্পে নিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করার ঝামেলায় যাওয়ার দরকার কী? এই ইয়াবা কারবারিকে ক্রসফায়ার করে মেরে ফেলে রাখি।"

এ কথা শুনে ইয়াবাকারবারি বলল,"আমার গায়ে তোরা যদি একটা ফুলের টোকা দিস তাহলে আপনাদের অস্তিত্ব থাকবে না।

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চুর মনে হল কেউ যেন তিনির মাথায় হাতুড়ি দিয়ে আঘাত করেছে।

কিন্তু মেজর মফিজ উত্তেজিত হয়ে বললেন,"স্যার,আপনি শুধু অনুমতি দেন। দুই গুলির জায়গায় ছয়গুলি করে বদমাশটাকে গুলি করে ফেলে রাখি।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু ততক্ষণে নিজেকে সামলে নিয়েছেন। তাই মেজার মফিজকে তিনি বললেন,"তুমি থাম, বিষয়টা আমাকে সামলাতে দাও।"

তাই কর্নেল বাচ্চু সেই ইয়াবা কারবারিকে ক্যাম্পে নিয়ে এলেন।

ক্যাম্পে এনে ইন্টারোগেশন রুমে সেই ইয়াবা কারবারিকে সামনে বসিয়ে বলতে লাগলেন, ,"তোমাকে চা কফি, ঠান্ডা মিষ্টি সবই খাওয়াব। শুধু তুমি বলো কোনদের (কাদের/কোন লোকদের) উস্কানিতে তুমি ইয়াবার কারবারে লিপ্ত হয়েছ। তা না হলে তোমাকে প্রচলিত স্টাইলে আমি জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করবো। তখন তুমি সত্য বলতে বাধ্য হবে। কিন্তু অযথাই কষ্ট ভোগ করবে।"

এ কথা শুনে মেজর মফিজ বললেন,"স্যার, ভালো কোথায় কাজ হবে না। এর চেয়ে বরং প্রচলিত স্টাইলে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করে ক্রসফায়ার করে ফেলে রাখি। তাতে আমাদের ক্যাম্পেরও সুনাম হবে, আপনারও প্রোমোশন হবে।"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু দুপাশের মাথা নেড়ে বললেন,"মানুষ খুন করে সুনাম অর্জন আর প্রমোশন পাওয়ার আমার কোন দরকার নাই। কেননা মানুষ খুন করে প্রাপ্ত প্রমোশন আর সুনাম আমাকে অবশেষে বিচারের কাঠগড়ায় দাঁড় করাবে।"

এবার ইয়াবা কারবারিকে কর্নেল বাচ্চু বলতে লাগলেন,"তোমার যা বলার তাড়াতাড়ি বলে ফেলো। আমি না থাকলে তোমাকে এতক্ষনে মেজর মফিজ ক্রসফায়ারে দিয়ে দিতো। যদি ভালোয় ভালোয় বলে দাও, তোমাকে কারা ইয়াবার কারবারে নামিয়ে দিয়েছে, তাহলে আমরা তোমার জন্য নাস্তা পানির ব্যবস্থা করব। তা না হলে তোমাকে কুকুরের মতো পেটাবো। এটাই হচ্ছে প্রচলিত স্টাইলে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ।"

এ কথা শুনে ইয়াবা কারবারি ভয় পেল এবং বলল, কারা কারা তাকে ইয়াবা ব্যবসায় নামিয়েছে।

কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"ইয়াবা কারবার ছাড়া তুমি কি আর কোন কাজ পাওনি? এতো কাজ থাকতে তুমি ইয়াবার কারবারে না নামলেও তো পারতে।"

মেজার মফিজ বললেন,"স্যার, এতো নীতি কথার গান গেয়ে লাভ কী? এই লোককে আমরা ইয়াবা ব্যবসায় পেয়েছি। এখন একে আমরা হয় ক্রসফায়ারে দেব, নয়তো পুলিশের হাতে দিয়ে দেব। তাকে কে বা কারা ইয়াবা ব্যবসায় নামিয়েছে, সেটা জানা তো আমাদের কোন দরকার নাই।"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু মুচকি মুচকি এসে বললেন,"তোমার কথা ঠিক আছে। কিন্তু এই লোককে ইয়াবা ব্যবসায় কারা নামিয়েছে, সেটা জেনে আমি পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ নেব। যদি ওদেরকে ধরার মতো ক্ষমতা আমার থাকে তাহলে ধরব। তা না হলে, ওদেরকে না ধরে এই লোকটাকে ইয়াবা কারবারের দায়ে পুলিশের হাতে তুলে দেব।"

মেজর মফিজ বললেন,"কেন ধরতে পারব না? আমাদেরকে তো যে কেউকে গ্রেফতার করার ক্ষমতা দিয়ে দেয়া আছে।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু ছোট একটা দীর্ঘশ্বাস ফেলে বললেন,"হ্যাঁ, আমাদেরকে বাংলাদেশের যে কেউকে গ্রেফতার করার ক্ষমতা দেয়া আছে। কিন্তু সেই ক্ষমতা প্রয়োগ করতে গেলে কিছু জটিলতার সম্মুখীন হতে হয়। আমি একজন কর্নেল।আমি একটা এরিয়ার চিফ। কিন্তু আমি চাইলেই আমার উপরের কর্মকর্তাদের মতো ক্ষমতা প্রয়োগ করতে পারি না। মনে রাখবে, তোমার হাতে যে দড়ি আছে, সেই দড়ি দিয়ে যদি গরু ধরতে পার, তবে তুমি সেটা দিয়ে কখনো হাতি ধরতে যেও না।তা করলে হাতি দড়িও ছিঁড়বে আর তোমাকেও নিজের শুঁড় দিয়ে পেঁচিয়ে মারবে। তাই সাবধান তোমার নিজের ক্ষমতার বাইরে কোন কিছু করতে যেও না।"

এ কথা শুনে মেজর মফিজ মৃদু প্রতিবাদের সুরে বললেন,"স্যার, আমি আপনার সঙ্গে সহমত হতে পারলাম না। আই এম সরি স্যার।"

একথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু মাথা ঝাঁকাতে ঝাঁকাতে একটা লম্বা দম নিয়ে বললেন,"তোমাকে আমি বলছি না যে, তুমি আমার সঙ্গে একমত হও। বরং আমি তোমাকে বলছি, তুমি আমার কমান্ড মেনে কাজ কর। এটাই তোমার চাকরি।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু এবার ইয়াবা কারবারিকে বললেন,"ভালোয় ভালোয় ওদের পরিচয় বলে দাও।"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চকে ইয়াবা কারবারি লোকটা ওর সহযোগীদের নাম ও পরিচয় বলল।

অবশেষে বলল,"ওরা আমাকে ইয়াবা প্রদান করে বলেছিল, 'তুমি নিশ্চিন্তে ইয়াবার ব্যবসা কর। ইয়াবার ব্যবসা করতে গিয়ে তোমার যত ধরনের সমস্যা হয় সেগুলো আমরা বুঝব। এই কক্সবাজারে এমন কারো সাধ্য নাই যে আমাদের ইয়াবা বিক্রয় প্রতিনিধিকে কেউ কিছু বলে। এমনকি বাংলাদেশ সরকারও যদি তোমাকে কিছু করতে চায় তাহলে সেটা সামলানোর ব্যবস্থাও আমাদের আছে।'"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু একেবারে হতবাক হয়ে গেলেন। তিনি হতবাক হয়ে চোখ বড় বড় করে ইয়াবা কারবারিকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন,"বাংলাদেশ সরকারও যদি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেয় তাহলে সেটাও ওরা সামলে নেবে? এটা কীভাবে সম্ভব।"

এ কথা শুনে ইয়াবা কারবারি বলল,"সেটা তো আমি জানি না।"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"তাহলে এটা জানতে হলে ওদেরকে ধরতে হবে। কিন্তু তোমার সহযোগিতা আমাদের দরকার। আমি এখন তোমাকে ছেড়ে দেব। তুমি ওদেরকে গিয়ে বলবে, কয়েকজন সাধারণ লোক তোমাকে ইয়াবার কারবার করতে বাধা দিচ্ছে। তখন ওরা যদি আমাদেরকে প্রতিহত করতে বলে , তাহলে তুমি ওদেরকে নাফ নদীর ট্রানজিট ব্রিজে নিয়ে আসবে। তখন আমরা ওদেরকে গ্রেফতার করে ওদের কাছ থেকে সেগুলো জানব। কিন্তু তুমি আমাদের সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে না। যদি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা কর তাহলে তোমাকে আমি নিজে গুলি করে মারব।"

এ কথা শুনে ইয়াবা কারবরি বলল,"ঠিক আছে। আমি আপনার কথা মতোই কাজ করব।"

একথা শোনার পর ইয়াবা কারবারিকে কর্নেল বাচ্চু ছেড়ে দিলেন।

দুদিন পরের ঘটনা

টেকনাফের নাফ নদীর তীরে ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের নিচে কর্নেল বাচ্চু, মেজর মফিজ আর কয়েকজন সহযোগী সিভিল ড্রেসে বসে আছেন।

সন্ধ্যা হয়ে গেছে অনেক আগেই। সবে রাত শুরু হয়েছে। তা সত্ত্বেও ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের নিচে এবং আশেপাশে বরশি দিয়ে মাছ শিকার করার জন্য কয়েকজন বসে আছে। অন্যরা বাড়ি ফিরে গিয়েছে।

কর্নেল বাচ্চুকে মেজর মফিজ বললেন,"স্যার, আমাদেরকে নিয়ে আপনি এভাবে লুকিয়ে আছেন কেন? সরাসরি ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের উপরে গিয়েই তো অপেক্ষা করতে পারেন।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"এই ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের নিচে এবং আশেপাশে যারা বরশির মাধ্যমে মাছ ধরে, ওদেরকে বিশ্বাস নাই। কারণ ওদের মধ্য থেকে কে কার এজেন্ট, কে গাদ্দার আর কে মাদকচকদের সদস্য, সেগুলো বোঝা বড় দায়।তাই আমি অপেক্ষা করছি শেষ বরশি শিকারিটা চলে যাওয়া পর্যন্ত।"

অনেক রাত হয়েছে। তাই শেষ বরশি শিকারিটাও চলে গিয়েছে।

আরো আধাঘন্টা পর শোনা গেল একজন আরেকজনকে ধমকে ধমকে বলছে,"কীরে, তোকে কারা ইয়াবা ব্যবসায় বাধা দিয়েছে? ওদেরকে ফোন করে বল, সাহস থাকলে এখন আমাদের সামনে আসতে।"

এ কথা শোনার পর ইয়াবা কারবারিটা কর্নেল বাচ্চুকে ফোন করল। কর্নেল বাচ্চু ফোন পেয়ে সিভিল ড্রেসে অন্যদেরকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে আড়াল থেকে বেরিয়ে এলেন।

কর্নেল বাচ্চুকে দেখে ধমকাতে থাকা লোকটা চেঁচিয়ে বলল, "কীরে, তুই আমার ইয়াবা ব্যবসায়ী প্রতিনিধিকে বাধা দিলি কেন? আমি চট্টগ্রামের ইয়াবা কারবারিদের বস। তুই কে?"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নাল বাচ্চু গম্ভীর কন্ঠে বললেন,"আমরা র‍্যাব।"

এ কথা শুনে সেই লোকটা বলল,"রাখ তোর র‍্যাব। আজকে তোদেরকে উল্টে নাফ নদীতে ফেলব।"

এ কথা শুনে কর্নেল বাচ্চু শার্টের আড়ালে লুকিয়ে রাখা মেশিন পিস্তলটা বের করে বললেন,"ফেল তো দেখি আমাদেরকে নাফ নদীতে উল্টে? যদি আমাদেরকে নাফ নদীতে উল্টে ফেলতে না পারিস। তাহলে তোদেরকে গুলি করে মারব। তখন কেমন লাগবে?"

এ কথা শুনে সেই লোকটা বলল,"স্যার,স্যার, আমাদের ভুল হয়ে গেছে। মূলত আমরা আপনাদেরকে উল্টে ফেলব না। বরং মিয়ানমারের ইয়াবা উৎপাদনকারীরা আমাদেরকে বলেছে ,আমরা যদি বাংলাদেশে ইয়াবার ব্যবসা করে কোন বাধা পাই তাহলে ওরা মিয়ানমার থেকে এসে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার করবে এবং যারা বাধা দিয়েছে তাদেরকে মেরে ফেলবে। ওদের এই আশ্বাসেই আমরা ইয়াবা ব্যবসা করছি এবং আপনাকে নাফ নদীতে উল্টে ফেলে দেবার কথা বলেছি।"

কর্নেল বাচ্চু তখন মেশিন পিস্তলের নল দিয়ে সেই লোকটার পেটে আচ্ছামতো একটা গুঁতো মেরে বললেন,"তাহলে মিয়ানমারের তোদের ইয়াবা উৎপাদনকারীদেরকে বল তোদেরকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য।"

এ কথা শুনে লোকটা স্যাটেলাইট ফোনের মাধ্যমে ওদের মিয়ানমারের লোকদেরকে বলল তাদেরকে উদ্ধার করার জন্য।

অপর প্রান্ত থেকে বলা হলো,"আধা ঘণ্টার মধ্যে আমরা আসছি।"

সত্যিই আধা ঘণ্টা পর দক্ষিণ দিক থেকে বঙ্গোপসাগরের মধ্য দিয়ে নাফ নদীতে একটা স্পিডবোর্ড প্রবেশ করল।

ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের কাছাকাছি এসেই ওরা গুলিবর্ষণ শুরু করল। কিন্তু ওদের গুলিবর্ষণের আওয়াজ শুনে ট্রানজিদের পাশেই বিজিবি ক্যাম্প থেকে চিৎকার চেঁচামেচি শোনা গেল। এবং পরক্ষণেই গুলির আওয়াজও শোনা গেল। অর্থাৎ মিয়ানমারের ইয়াবা সন্ত্রাসীদের গুলির আওয়াজ শুনে বিজিবি ক্যাম্প থেকেও গুলি করা হচ্ছে।

ট্রানজিট ব্রিজের উত্তর দিক থেকেও একটা স্পিডবোট আসতে লাগলো।সেই স্পিডবোটটাও বিজিবি ক্যাম্পের। সেই স্পিডবোট থেকেও গুলিবর্ষণ করা হচ্ছে।

দু দিকের গুলিবর্ষণের ফলে স্পিডবোটটা আবার বাঁক নিয়ে উল্টোদিকে যাত্রা শুরু করল। অর্থাৎ মিয়ানমারের দিকে পালাতে লাগল। অবশেষে সেই স্পিডবোটটা বিজিবির নাগালের বাইরে চলে গেল। তাই মিয়ানমারের সমুদ্রসীমায় বিজিবি আর গেল না। এই কারণে মিয়ানমারের ওই মাদক সন্ত্রাসীরা পালিয়ে গেল। কিন্তু বিজিবির স্পিডবোট থেকে শোনা যেতে লাগল ধর্ ধর্ ধর্....।

মেজর মফিজকে কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"আমাদের কাজ আমরা করে ফেলেছি। এখন বিজিবির কাজ বিজিবি করবে। আমরা যাদেরকে ধরেছি ওদেরকে সকালে পুলিশের হাতে দিয়ে দেব। আমি বলেছিলাম গরু ধরার ক্ষমতা থাকলে হাতি যেন না ধরা হয়। কিন্তু হাতি ধরলে দড়িও ছিঁড়বে, শুঁড় দিয়ে পেঁচিয়েও মারবে। এখনের অবস্থাও হয়েছে তাই। আমরা গরুর মতো বাংলাদেশের ইয়াবা কারবারিদেরকে ধরতে পেরেছি। কিন্তু মিয়ানমারের মাদক সন্ত্রাসীদেরকে ধরতে পারছি না। অর্থাৎ নিজদেশের অপরাধীদের ধরার ক্ষমতা থাকলেও অন্যদেশে গিয়ে সেই দেশের অপরাধীদের ধরার উপায় থাকে না। এটাই হচ্ছে ক্ষমতার সীমার একটা উদাহরণ।"

আর ইয়াবা কারবারি বসকে কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"এবার দেখেছিস, অন্য দেশের মানুষের উস্কানিতে নিজের দেশে অপরাধ করলে কেমন হয়?"

এ কথা বলে অন্যদেরকে কর্নেল বাচ্চু বললেন,"তোমরা এদের সকলকে ক্যাম্পে নিয়ে যাও। এরপর আমরা ওদেরকে পুলিশের হাতে দিয়ে দেব। এখন তোমরা যাও, আমি পরে আসছি।"

অন্যরা চলে গেলে কর্নেল বাচ্চু একা দাঁড়িয়ে রইলেন ট্রানজিট ব্রিজে। দেখতে লাগলেন বিজেপির তৎপরতা।

ততক্ষণে ভোর হতে শুরু করেছে। টেকনাফ বাজারের মসজিদের আজানের ধ্বনি ট্রানজিট ব্রিজে দাঁড়িয়ে কর্নেল বাচ্চু শুনতে পেলেন।

ক্রমে ক্রমে ভোর হতে শুরু করেছে। আকাশের চাঁদের আলোটাও কমতে শুরু করেছে। এরই মধ্যে কর্নেল বাচ্চু ট্রানজিট ব্রিজে হাঁটতে লাগলেন। এখন তিনির লক্ষ্য টেকনাফ বাজার। সেখানে গিয়ে আরেকটা গাড়িতে উঠে চলে যাবেন নিজেদের ক্যাম্পে। তিনি চলতে লাগলেন টেকনাফ বাজারের দিকে।(সমাপ্ত) ©️All Right Reserved by Junayed Ashrafur Rahman
